The SRT moniker once covered everything from a Dodge Neon edition to sleeper sedans like the Chrysler 300 SRT8. However, the most recent SRTs are superlative muscle cars. These are the fastest Challenger SRT models of all:

  • 2023 Demon 170
  • 2018 Demon
  • 2022 Hellcat Super Stock
  • 2023 Black Ghost
  • 2022 Hellcat Redeye Widebody

Fans and owners thought the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon would be the last of the automaker’s halo cars. Upon its release, the Demon smashed records like being the only production car to ever wheelie during a hard launch. However, the Demon’s dominance ends with the latest Demon variant: the Demon 170

How fast is the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170?

The new 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will cover a quarter-mile drag in 8.91 seconds with a trap speed of 151 mph. It’s not just the fastest Dodge Challenger ever; it’s the fastest-accelerating muscle car of all time.

Moreover, the Demon 170’s 1.66-second sprint to 60 mph puts it ahead of its predecessor by over half a second. Still, with a gaping hood inlet and wheel-standing launches, the Demon 170 seems like a fitting successor for the industry-defying 2018 model.

Is a Hellcat or Demon faster?

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is faster off the line than any supercharged Hellcat model. Specifically, the 2018 Demon will reach 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in 9.65 seconds.

Of course, the 2018 Demon required some prep before hitting the strip for times like those. Dodge sold the Mopar halo car with a $1 crate that included skinny front wheels, an ECU, Snap-On tools, a high-flow air filter, and a replacement center console.

How much HP does a Super Stock Dodge have?

Beyond the simply silly Demons, the Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock is the next-fastest Challenger in the lineup. The Super Stock produces 807 horsepower, just one pony shy of the 2018 Demon on pump gas. As a result, the Super Stock will hit 60 mph in just 3.25 seconds.

Moreover, the drag strip-ready Dodge coupe will finish a quarter-mile drag in around 10.5 seconds at 131 mph, per MotorTrend.

What is the Dodge Challenger Black Ghost?

The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Black Ghost is one of the last of the “Last Call” models from the automaker. However, unlike the 6.4L mills in the Swinger and Shakedown Challengers, the Black Ghost produces 807 horsepower from its supercharged 6.2L V8. As a result, the Black Ghost will keep pace with the latest Hellcat-powered Challengers.

How fast is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody model?

One of the ultimate SRT Hellcat offerings, the Redeye Widebody will blast to 60 mph in around 3.4 seconds, per KBB. Moreover, the Redeye Widebody’s 10.8-second quarter mile matches the Hellcat Jailbreak.

What’s next for Dodge?

The days of the shrieking supercharged V8 Mopar muscle car is over; Dodge is discontinuing its Challenger and Charger models after the 2023 model year. Instead, Dodge and CEO Tim Kuniskis have made it clear that the automaker will shift its focus to electric performance cars like the Charger Daytona SRT EV
