Lexus has mostly been known for making stately sedans and comfortable crossovers over the past few decades. However, the Japanese automaker has also made some pretty fast cars. Of course, The Lexus LF-A was easily forgettable, but arguably one of the fastest (and most attractive) cars that the brand ever produced. But what is the fastest Lexus model that you can currently buy?

The fastest Lexus model in the current lineup is one of the most attractive

For a semi-attainable $67,470, you can buy the Lexus RC F, which is the fastest model in the brand’s current lineup. What makes it so quick? The RC F is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 472 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to blast this 3,902-pound car up to 60 mph in only 4.2 seconds, according to Lexus.

We had a chance to test out the special Lexus RC F Fuji Speedway Edition and were thoroughly impressed with its monstrous power and agility. Additionally, the special edition’s carbon-fiber wing and other aero enhancements were a nice touch. However, they’re not really worth the extra $35,000 unless you’re planning on taking it to the track on a regular basis.  

The second-fastest Lexus is a little more eye-catching

If you’re looking to buy the second-fastest Lexus currently produced, you’ll have to shell out at least $94,600 for the legendary LC 500. We say “legendary” because it’s not only attractive, but it has the speed to back it up. Under the hood of the 2023 Lexus LC 500 is a 5.0-liter V8 engine that churns out 471 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque.

That’s enough power to motivate the 4,340-pound supercar up to 60 mph from a standstill in only 4.4 seconds, according to Lexus. The LC 500 isn’t all about straight-line speed, though. We were able to put this car through its paces in 2021 and came away impressed with its spry handling characteristics. But when driven normally, the LC 500 acts as a comfortable touring car that can easily be driven for hours.

Also, if you’re the tree-hugging type, then the LC 500 also comes in hybrid form. The LC 500h costs around $6,000 more and is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s strapped to an electric motor and CVT. Altogether, the powertrain puts out 354 hp, which is enough to get the car up 60 mph in only 4.7 seconds. However, it’s also very fuel-efficient for a supercar, with its EPA-rated stats of 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.

The third-fastest Lexus model uses a familiar engine

Have you noticed that the two fastest Lexus models use the same 5.0-liter V8 engine? Well, it shouldn’t surprise you that the third-fastest Lexus model, the IS 500 F-Sport Performance, uses the same powerplant. That’s right, this four-door tire scorcher pumps out 472 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque, just like the LC 500. It can even achieve the same 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds.

Performance aside, the IS 500 F-Sport makes for an excellent value proposition with its $62,075 price tag and sedan architecture. That means that three other passengers can fit comfortably while you wring the car out on those canyon roads on the weekends. We’re sure it can do double duty as a fun daily driver as well.  

Although Lexus has always been known to produce some of the most comfortable sedans and crossovers on the market, these three fast models show that the automaker can build a proper sports car as well – albeit with a luxurious touch.
