Rivian produced the first electric truck in America. The 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition has a suite of features called Rivian Driver Plus. Here’s what Driver Plus includes.

What is Rivian Driver Plus?

Rivian Driver Plus comes standard on R1T Launch Edition models. Driver Plus is a package that features several advanced driver assistance and safety features that drastically improve the overall driving experience.

It includes Highway Assist. Highway Assist lets drivers relax more as the R1T steers, brakes, and accelerates under supervision. The R1T will warn drivers if the feature is engaged and hands aren’t on the steering wheel. Highway Assist works best in moderate highway traffic. Drivers can adjust the feature to increase or decrease the space between the R1T and the vehicle in front of it on a highway.

Driver Plus also includes Adaptive Cruise Control, allowing drivers to set their cruising speed. The R1T automatically accelerates and brakes when this feature is activated. This feature is perfect for long road trips. It takes the stress out of long drives, especially in heavy traffic.

Lane Change Assist is included to make changing lanes on the highway easier. Safety features include Automatic High Beams, Rear Cross-Traffic Warning, Park Assist, and Trailer Assist. Rivian Driver Plus also includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Dynamic Brake Support, and Forward Collision Warning. Rivian strives to provide the safest and most convenient driving experience possible.

Features like one-pedal driving and Highway Assist make the Rivian R1T a pleasure to drive, even in traffic! The R1T’s quiet cabin, amazing handling, and many driver assistance features make driving a breeze. The R1T doesn’t only excel off-road. It also provides an amazing driving experience on regular roads and highways.

What’s so special about the Rivian R1T?

The Rivian R1T is special because it is designed for adventure but can double as a daily driver as well. The R1T’s ride quality can be adjusted for different types of terrain. According to MotorAuthority, the R1T has eight different drive modes. Few trucks can both handle tight corners at high speeds and climb rocks. Its electric powertrain system gives it certain advantages over pickup trucks with internal combustion engines.

The electric truck has proven that it can handle the gnarliest of obstacles. It even bested the Hell’s Gate off-road obstacle in Moab, Utah.

The R1T Launch Edition starts at $85,000. It makes an incredible 835 horsepower and 908 lb-ft of torque. The R1T Launch Edition has about 314 miles of range. It features Regenerative Braking to ensure that the battery lasts even longer. This isn’t your grandpa’s old pickup.
