Let me start this by saying that I love luxury sedans. Out of all of the different types of press cars that I have the privilege of driving, luxury cars are my favorite. Why? Because they are comfortable, quiet, and typically have all of the creature comforts you could ever need. In my initial days of driving the 2022 Lexus ES300h F Sport, I can say that it definitely caters to all of my wants and needs.

The 2022 Lexus ES300h is fuel-efficient and somewhat sporty

My 2022 Lexus ES300h test car for the week comes equipped with the F Sport package. This package includes an F Sport-tuned suspension, bolstered front seats, and a few F Sport styling cues. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of luxury automakers trying to make their cars sporty, but in the case of ES 300h, it works. My test car came with an Iridium paint job that looks subtle and complements the body lines of the car well.

On the inside is a red and black leather interior that looks like it was designed by Deadpool. Some buyers may not like this look, but considering the exterior paint color is neutral, I think it works. Sportiness aside, one of the main draws for this car is its hybrid powertrain.

Under the hood is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s strapped to an electric motor for a combined output of 215 hp. No, it’s not fast by any means, but it’s fast enough to get you onto the highway at a decent speed without you cursing for it to go faster. Also, the hybrid powertrain is quiet, which doesn’t interrupt the rest of the luxury experience.

Of course, the best part is that the hybrid setup is EPA-rated at 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway, which is a blessing during these times of elevated gas prices.

The Lexus ES300h comes with plenty of tech features

Another aspect that contributes to the luxuriousness of the Lexus ES300h is the number of tech features that it has. My tester came equipped with a number of extras including front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and other driver-assist aids. On the inside, there are heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and even a rear sunshade so that the back-seat passengers won’t burn their necks.

There’s even a power-closing trunk with a hands-free feature, which I find a little unnecessary considering it’s a trunk. However, it’s a small detail that could be useful when your hands are occupied with grocery bags or other stuff.

The Lexus ES has plenty of room as well

Another contributing factor to the poshness of the Lexus ES is the amount of passenger room it has. There’s plenty of head and legroom for front-seat passengers and rear-seat passengers won’t likely complain during long road trips.

Speaking of road trips, I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country if I needed or wanted to. It’s that’s good and that comfortable. So I’ll spend more time with it and report my finding soon enough. Stay tuned.
