Dodge recently announced a new widebody version of the fire-breathing Charger Hellcat, and we have to say, it looks awesome. In addition to the widebody kit, the latest Challenger will also be equipped with an upgraded interior from the standard Charger and new technology that assist with driver acceleration and safety. Here are five things that we think make the Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody so cool.

1. Integrated Fender Flares

Building on the success of the Challenger Widebody, Dodge gave the Charger its own set of wider fenders, enhancing the appearance of the overall exterior. A quick look at the Charger Widebody indicated that the fender flares of the past have been integrated to include an additional 3.5 inches to the overall width of this Charger Hellcat model and should improve handling.

2. Charger Widebody Brings New Wheels

A wider body should also mean wider wheels, right? In the case of the Charger Hellcat Widebody, the 20-inch rims have been stretched from 9.5 inches to 11 inches. These larger wheels should improve grip, especially under hard acceleration. Not only are the new wheels tucked beneath the integrated fender flares, but the Charger Widebody is packed with upgraded two-piece brake rotors as well as a suspension tuning designed specifically for this model.

3. New Sedan Top Speed

Expect the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody to top out at 196 mph, which makes it faster than any other American sedan currently in production. With the Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood, drivers will find that the Widebody runs from 0-to-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Not bad for a rear-wheel-drive sedan.

4. Unique Hellcat Interior

The 2020 Charger Hellcat Widebody will come with custom interior, to include the Hellcat logo, with a choice of either Black and Demonic Red, Black, and Sepia, or solid Black seats, and complete with a black and red finish. With the Charger Widebody model, drivers can expect more room, making the model more spacious than the standard Dodge Charger.

5. Upgraded Technology For The Race Track

For those planning to take on the race track with the Charger Hellcat, the Charger Widebody model is equipped with state-of-the-art racing technology that will enhance the speed and allow the driver to maintain control of the Charger; launch assist and launch control.

Electronically limits power to maximize power without overpowering the rear tires.

Launch Assist

Modifies torque on the fly during a hard launch to avoid wheel hop and protect the powertrain.

Expect The Release In Late 2019/ Early 2020

Dealers will begin taking orders later this year, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2020.
