This week in Coral Gables, a city just southwest of downtown Miami, Florida, a Porsche driver apparently confused her pedals. Unfortunately, it happened on the third floor of a parking garage.

The driver rammed what looked like a Porsche Cayenne completely through the parking garage wall. Local first responders found the white luxury SUV dangling off the side of the building.

According to Coral Gables Fire Rescue Division Chief Xavier Jones, the driver allegedly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The Porsche would have fallen to the ground three stories below, but a tree stopped it.

The local fire department lowered a first responder to the vehicle, who rescued the driver. “Thanks to our dedicated firefighters, we were able to bring her to safety without any serious injuries reported,” Jones said. The woman sustained minor injuries, according to USA Today.

Insurance should cover the Porsche and parking garage damage

We don’t know if the Cayenne is even driveable after the incident, but surely it suffered some major damage to its front and underside. Collision coverage should take care of the incoming bill…including the parking garage repairs, up to a certain limit.

The Cayenne, Porsche’s midsize SUV, starts at $87K for the base model trim and rises all the way up to over $203K for the Cayenne Turbo GT. If it’s not totaled, we predict hefty collision and liability estimates.
