Flying $250,000 Lamborghini Urus Jumps Over $450,000 Aventador for YouTube
Let’s face it. As YouTube gets older, stunts have had to get progressively more extreme to go viral. This has resulted in the destruction of expensive cars for the sake of views. Every car involved in this latest story gets to go home without a scratch. More specifically, we’re talking about a Lamborghini Uris and an Aventador.
Streetspeed717 on YouTube created and filmed the elaborate stunt for his channel. If that name sounds familiar, that’s because he previously jumped his Ram 1500 TRX repeatedly, destroying it in the process. Thankfully, this time around, the YouTuber calculated the stunt to make it at least slightly safer.
How expensive are the Lamborghini Urus and Aventador?
Before we dive into this latest Lamborghini Urus and Aventador story, let’s take a look at exactly how much these vehicles cost. For starters, the Urus has a base price of $218,009. However, with plenty of optional extras available, the price of his full-size SUV can quickly soar past the $250,000 range. Under its hood lies a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 developing 641 hp.
Price aside, part of what makes seeing a Lamborghini Urus take to the skies is that it has a curb weight of almost 5,000 lb. Additionally, this enormous Lambo features air suspension that isn’t exactly rated for catching air.
The Lamborghini Aventador, on the other hand, doesn’t leave the ground at all. Unlike the Urus, the Aventador’s base price goes well over the $400,000 mark. The model shown in the video is a standard LP700-4, meaning it isn’t a special edition. Regardless, we’re talking about over half a million dollar’s worth of cars on the line.
Watch the full-size SUV fly through the sky
Before the Lamborghini Urus jumped over the Aventador, Streetspeed717 reportedly calculated how much speed the SUV would need to clear the supercar. This calculation is doable since the ramps themselves are man-made.
This is important because last time around with the TRX, Streetspeed717 estimated the necessary speed to clear a massive jump, going way too fast in the end. The result was that the pickup truck slammed onto the ground, breaking several major components.
In contrast, Streetspeed717 built a second incline on the other side of the jump to ensure that the Lamborghini Urus has a relatively soft landing after clearing the Aventador.
As you can see from the video embedded above, the Lamborghini Urus easily clears the Aventador. However, you’ll notice that there isn’t much room for error. As a result, taking the extra time to calculate the necessary speed truly paid off.
This Lamborghini owner has gotten in trouble before
While this Lamborghini Urus jump over an Aventador is truly an unusual sight, it could’ve carried some serious legal repercussions. Thankfully, it seems this video was filmed on private property.
However, Streetspeed717’s previous video with the TRX wasn’t. In that case, Motor1 reports that the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission charged the YouTuber with at least 18 separate counts. While we don’t know the outcome of those charges, this latest stunt likely won’t get him in trouble.
