The Ford Bronco has turned 55 years old. To celebrate its heritage and the unprecedented response to its re-introduction, Ford has created five concepts for the public to see. Two of the concepts are based on the Bronco, while three are based on the smaller Bronco Sport model. The automaker also announced the location of the first Off-Rodeo.

Basking on successful Bronco and Bronco Sport launches

Ford is currently basking in the splendor of the Bronco and Bronco Sport launch. According to a press release this morning, the online streaming launch was pretty strong. Plenty of orders and eyeballs participated in the event either with their wallets, or just by viewing the social media stream of the new offroad machines.

“165,000 people placing $100 deposits for orders online in the first three weeks and more than 13 million tuning in on television or watching on social media platforms to catch a glimpse of the highly anticipated new models.”

Five adventure concepts were revealed today to capitalize on the successful launch. Those concepts are The Outer Banks Fishing Guide, The Two-Door Trail Rig, The Four-Door Trail Rig, the Tow RZR, and the Off-Roadeo Adventure Patrol. Each of the concepts showcased accessories from Ford. The intent of the debuts was to show how customizable the two new offroaders can be to suit the personal tastes of their owners.

2021 Ford Bronco Outer Banks Fishing Guide

This concept was built to support those that have a great appreciation for fishing as a part of their lives. It was built upon the larger Bronco four-door. It has a first-row soft-top, roof rails, crossbars, a Yakima roof rack, a Ford Performance front bumper and safari bar, splash guards, and a custom made fishing pole rack that is attached to the fender-mounted trail sights.

2021 Ford Bronco Trail Rig

This adventure concept is built upon the larger Bronco also, but the two-door model. It has a Ford Performance front bumper, winch, and recovery kit. The ever-popular tube doors show up for the Bronco on this concept, as do beadlock-capable wheels, a 40-inch lightbar, a Yakima roof rack, a recovery kit, recovery boards, and a swing-gate mounted table.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Trail Rig

This is the first adventure concept based on the smaller Bronco Sport platform. This 4×4 has 31-inch tires tucked under a 1-inch lift kit. There are offroad lights mounted a front nudge bar, a Yakima roof rack, recovery boards, and Jerry cans.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Tow RZR

This concept is also based on the smaller Bronco Sport. It has Yakima crossbars, an OffGrid medium cargo basket, and a class II tow package capable of towing a Polaris RZR, or other offroad goodies the owner may have.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport Off-Rodeo Adventure Patrol

This concept was designed with the new Off-Rodeo events in mind. Those are events that Bronco owners will be invited to in different parts of the country in an attempt to build a thriving community of avid Bronco fans. The concept is equipped with a Yakima cargo rack to hold recovery gear such as recovery boards and Jerry cans. It also has a Ford Performance LED lightbar, an interior bike rack, and they integrated a drone for use on the trail at the Off-Rodeo events.

The first Off-Roadeo

The location for the first Off-Roadeo was also announced in this morning’s press release. It will be in Austin, Texas. Other locations will follow.

“Opening next summer, the Bronco Off-Roadeo is available to Bronco two- and four-door and Bronco Sport Badlands series owners to get the most adventure out of their rugged SUVs and to build connections to the greater Bronco community. The off-roading and outdoor adventure playgrounds are designed for all skill levels, with experiences that aim to build confidence and inspire Bronco owners to get out in the wild for years to come.”

The Baja 1000 race

The news did not end there. In addition to the reveal of the 5 adventure concepts, and the Off-Rodeo Texas plans, Ford also announced that the Bronco R would return to the SCORE Baja 1000 race this year. The offroad race is a punishing challenge for any platform. The Bronco R competed last year and will return this year as well.

Overall, it was a day full of reveals and announcements. Ford is trying to break into the hardcore offroad enthusiast communities in a big way. It has taken a page from Jeep’s history by making sure to have plenty of options and accessories available to allow for customization, regardless of whatever offroad whim a Bronco owner may have. The reveals today from the automaker shows just a glimpse of what the company has available. More concepts will probably be forthcoming.
