Is the 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage Edition Worth Buying?
Back when Ford announced it would be reviving the Bronco nameplate, off-road fans and those shopping for a new SUV knew they’d be in for something special. And with the 2023 Bronco, that is going to be taken to the next level. For 2023, Ford is really taking things to the next level by offering the Ford Bronco Heritage Edition and Ford Bronco Heritage Limited. These models will be limited to 1,966 units, and they do add cost to the baseline of the Bronco. So, is it worth buying?
What is the 2023 Bronco Heritage?
The Ford Bronco first went on sale back in 1966. And while the new model is a fairly big departure from it, Ford did not want to forget its roots. The Heritage Edition adds a variety of cosmetic upgrades to the Bronco. Making this modern SUV appear to be more vintage.
Various things have been changed, like adding a two-tone roof and retro-inspired wheels. Some models even come with plaid seats. And frankly, that is just pretty neat. It adds a bit of fun to this otherwise rugged SUV.
The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport is also getting the Heritage trim. So if you want something that looks vintage and is a solid daily driver, that is probably worthy of consideration.
How expensive is the Heritage Edition?
In terms of cost, the Bronco Heritage is not necessarily cheap. It has a starting price of $44,305. For the Ford Bronco Heritage Limited, expect to pay $66,895. According to Ford Authority, these trims will also return for 2024.
It is interesting that Ford decided to make these dedicated trim levels. At first glance, it’s easy to assume that these are just optional packages. The Heritage is based on the Ford Bronco Big Bend, and the Heritage Limited is built on the Ford Bronco Badlands.
The Sport models are already on sale, while the full-size Bronco will be available for ordering later this year.
Should you wait for the 2023 Ford Bronco?
If you are lucky enough to be able to order a Bronco Heritage or Heritage Limited, it’s probably worth waiting for these vehicles to be released. They look pretty sharp, and you will have a Ford SUV that is produced only in limited quantities.
It is also worth mentioning that you can get a Heritage Ford Bronco with the available seven-speed manual transmission. And that is fairly exciting. Ford could have easily restricted the Heritage trims to the larger engine and automatic transmission.
The exact date that these models will go on sale has not yet been announced. But, they should hit the market at some point later this year. Whether you want a four-door Bronco or a two-door model, you will be able to get it with this SUV.
The main factor on whether or not you determine to purchase this will likely be cost and availability. As we’ve seen with limited editions in the past, they can sell out pretty quickly. So once orders open, try to act fast.
