Are you ready to listen to some engines roar? The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is coming to race the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. However, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 isn’t worried yet because it overpowers the new Ford Bronco Raptor

Press the pedal to the metal. We’re ready to go! Details about the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor are finally emerging. But some folks may be disappointed. The Bronco Raptor doesn’t have a precious V8 engine yet.

Instead, the Bronco Raptor is equipped with a twin-turbocharged engine that Ford says will provide about 400 hp. So, we don’t have the official figures yet. The regular Bronco has an optional 2.7-liter V6 engine with 330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque.

The regular Bronco can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.9 seconds. We can’t wait to see how much faster the Bronco Raptor is.

But can it catch the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392? It has a 6.4-liter V8 engine with 470 hp and 47- lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 4.0 seconds.

How do the Bronco Raptor and Rubicon 392 compare?

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is equipped with heavy 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires and 17-inch bead-lock capable wheels. The spare tire carrier had to be reinforced to carry the extra weight.

With the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, you get 33-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 17-inch bead-lock-capable wheels. You can upgrade to 35-inch tires.

The Bronco Raptor has a 13.1-inch ground clearance, and the Rubicon 392 has a 10.3-inch ground clearance. The Bronco Raptor has a 47.2- and 40.5-degree approach and departure angle. The Rubicon 392 has a 44.5-degree approach angle and 37.5-degree departure angle.

Interestingly, the Bronco uses an upgraded, heavy-duty 44 Dana 50 solid rear axle. Solid Dana axles have been a Jeep Wrangler thing for decades! Also, the Bronco Raptor is 8.6 inches wider than the base Bronco. This makes us wonder if it will be too wide for narrower, wooded trails.

There is a Dana 44 front axle with upgraded half-shafts, an enhanced transfer case with a higher capacity clutch, a hydraulic disconnecting front anti-roll bar, and front and rear locking differentials. The Bronco also turned to Fox for live valve dampers, like the Rubicon 392.

Does the Bronco Raptor or Rubicon 392 have better features?

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor starts at $69,995, and the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 begins at about $77,095. The Bronco Raptor’s price could be for the base model. Higher trim levels could eclipse $80,000.

Extra G.O.A.T modes with the Ford Bronco Raptor include Baja and Tow/Haul. Also, the Bronco Raptor can tow up to 4,500 lbs, while the base model can tow up to 3,500 lbs. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 can tow up to 3,500 lbs and includes modes for Sand, Rock, and Off-Road Plus.

Both of these beasts will have to meet to determine which option is better. The Rubicon 392 could be faster, but the Bronco Raptor is taller with more off-roading modes. Both use Dana solid axles and Fox dampers.

Baja races will be interesting this summer once the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor arrives. Some rumors suggest that a Bronco Raptor R with a V8 engine or hybrid powertrain is on the way to match the Rubicon 392’s power.
