Sometimes car owners are passionate for different reasons. Some people are totally in love with their vehicle and others aggressively regret their decision. One Ford Bronco Sport owner is flipping his lid after repairs cost more than the SUV is worth.

Ford Bronco Sport owner warns buyers to stay away

Ryan, an owner of a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport went off on TikTok. He said, “This is your sign not to get a Bronco.” He wanted drivers to rethink their decision if they want a Bronco, referring to the Sport model.

Just a heads up, the video contains explicit language, because Ryan’s rant is extremely angry. But is his frustration justified?

He purchased a 2021 Bronco Sport with 34,000 miles on the odometer. Then he added another 70,000 miles before disaster struck.

Reportedly, the Bronco Sport needs a new transmission, catalytic converter, and engine repairs for a total of around $18,000. However, his SUV is only worth $16,000.

The Ford Bronco Sport did have warranty coverage, but it expired about 10,000 miles ago. Ryan faces the repair costs out of pocket.

I need a little more information about the severity of the problems and care. Did he buy a model with previous problems? Did he take care of his SUV by providing regular maintenance? Is he a responsible diver?

How reliable is the Bronco Sport? As a brand, Ford doesn’t always have the best ratings. On J.D.Power’s 2024 United States Vehicle Dependability Study, Ford is below the industry average.

It has 239 problems per 100 vehicles while Lexus is in first place with only 135 problems per 100 vehicles.

According to J.D.Power, the 2021 Bronco Sport has a reliability rating of 81 out of 100. This score is above average. Scores between 70 and 80 are average while anything between 81 and 100 is great.

While the 2021 model has a low number of complaints, it does have nine recalls and one investigation related to loss of motive power.

I’d take his video with a grain of salt because the problems could be unique to his situation.
