The Ford Bronco Sport Black Diamond Is a Bargain
If you want to make your Ford Bronco Sport a little tougher, check out the new Black Diamond package. It has some extra equipment to beef up the Sport so you can take it on more strenuous adventures. Check out the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Black Diamond.
What comes with the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Black Diamond package?
The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Diamond package includes extra protection. It has four steel skid plates to protect vital components. One shields the fuel tank, and another guards the front against sharp-angled rocks.
Plus, the Black Diamond package has 17-inch Carbonized Grey wheels wrapped in 225/65R17 tires. Some may notice that the wheels have a similar look to the retro white ones that come with the Heritage Edition.
According to Motor Trend, some people may hate the basic look of these aluminum wheels, but others may love the bare-bones look.
Also, the package comes with a matte black hood graphic that features a tiny Bronco. Side stripes with Bronco lettering on the sides complete the look.
How do you add the Bronco Sport Black Diamond package?
You can add the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Back Diamond package to the Big Bend or Outer Banks trim for $1,295. It adds off-roading power to these models, so people don’t have to spring for the top-spec Badlands trim.
The Ford Bronco Sport Big Bend starts at $30,390, and adding this package increases the price to $31,685. The Bronco Sport Badlands begins at around $36,590, so the savings are there.
However, the Badlands has a lot more off-roading grit. Also, these prices are the MSRPs and don’t include the destination fees or dealership markups.
The Big Bend and Outbanks models come with the turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 181 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque.
You must upgrade to the Badlands to access the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. This engine helps the Bronco Sport accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds.
What comes with the Bronco Sport Badlands?
The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Black Diamond package seems a little light compared to the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands model. However, each model comes with standard all-wheel drive, which is an excellent perk.
Upgrading to the Badlands adds an optimized off-roading suspension and an upgraded 4WD system with a rear differential. It also includes beefy all-terrain tires and steel skid plates, so it makes sense that it’s not available with the Black Diamond package.
Plus, you get tow hooks, terrain-specific off-road driving modes, Trail control, a 180-degree front-facing trail camera, rubberized flooring, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an upgraded information display, heated seats, and a house-hold style outlet.
The Badlands model is the optimal option for off-roaders looking to really push their Bronco Sport. But the Black Diamond package still helps the Bronco Sport go a little further into the wild.
It’s a pretty good bargain, but it doesn’t add any extra power or mechanical components. Basically, it provides more protection and tires with more grip. Also, the graphics help it pop. We can’t wait to see how it compares to the Badlands model we tested.
