Ford’s Bronco Sport saw more popularity than the regular Ford Bronco upon its return to the market. There’s a lot to like about this model. However, there are a few drawbacks, including a recall the Ford F-150 has too. What’s this recall about? Ford is having a bad year with its vehicles

This year hasn’t been good for Ford as far as the recalls go. The brand has had so many problems that it’s hard to keep up. Many are from the F-150, but some have been on the Explorer, Bronco Sport, and the Ranger. 

We’ve heard of the tear seam issue where the stitching around the glovebox area was defective. That’s very unfortunate because that’s where the airbags are deployed when the vehicle gets into an accident. Then there’s the fuel line recall, which affected the Explorer and the Ranger. Assembly workers found loose fuel line connections, which can cause a leak problem. 

There have been faulty drivelines, software issues on the trailer brake control, windshield wiper motor problems, steering column wire issue, and seatbelt problems. Now, something new has cropped up that affects the Bronco Sport and the F-150.

What’s the newest recall for the Bronco Sport and the F-150? 

This recall isn’t considered a severe one, but it still needs to be addressed as soon as possible. It deals with the parking lights on both models. Assembly factory workers found some vehicles would have flickering parking lights when turned on. 

Upon investigation, it was determined that the Lighting Control Module was faulty in specific versions. According to Jalopnik, the lighting issue affects 8,246 Bronco Sport models and 77,804 F-150 pickups produced between mid-March and late July 2021. 

To resolve the issue, service technicians will replace the faulty modules in the affected models with new ones that won’t flicker. What does the Bronco Sport offer?

With the Bronco Sport, you get a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder producing 181 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 250 hp. For the larger-sized motor, you can go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. 

You’ll also get all-wheel drive and the Goes over Any Terrain (G.O.A.T.) drive mode system standard with it. When it comes to towing, it’s not quite as impressive, though. You can haul up to 2,000 lbs, about 1,500 lbs less than the RAV4 offers. The ride on this model is on the rough side, but it is meant to be an off-roading SUV. 

For the interior, you get high-quality materials and a spacious cabin. As for features, you can expect an 8-inch touchscreen, Ford’s Sync 3, which is the brand’s infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, as well as a wireless phone charging pad and a 6.5-inch digital cluster gauge. 

Ford may not have had the most incredible year regarding recalls with some of its vehicles, but it still offers some pretty good SUVs, like the Bronco Sport. How can you possibly go wrong for a starting price that falls under $30,000 for an off-roading SUV like this?
