The Ford F-150 Earns Edmunds’ Top Rated Truck Three Years Running
There’s no getting around it; trucks are some of the hottest vehicles in the United States. Whether it be the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500, consumers love their pickups. And when it comes to the most popular full-size truck, the F-150 often reigns supreme. In fact, for the third year in a row, the Ford F-150 has earned Edmunds Top Rated Truck.
What is Edmunds favorite truck?
For the past three years, the Ford F-150 has earned the honor of being Edmunds’ favorite pickup. This full-size truck is versatile, rugged, and stylish. And it builds on the Blue Oval’s legacy of building quality pickups. Heck, it can even handle life as a family vehicle thanks to its spacious interior.
According to Edmunds, when it comes to doing truck stuff, the F-150 just has the competition beat. And that is likely why this vehicle is so popular with consumers.
The 2023 Ford F-150 is diverse
Where the F-150 truly shines is the vast number of trim levels. Want a work truck? You got it. Want an off-road truck? The F-150 is there. It’s pretty clear the amount of money and resources that the Blue Oval has put into its full-size truck.
In terms of powertrain options, there is also a variety. These engine range from V6’s to a 5.0-liter V8. Ford even offers an F-150 hybrid. With the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid, Ford claims the 2023 F-150 will have a driving range of 700 miles. And while a hybrid truck is not for everyone, it is nice to see.
What makes the F-150 different?
In the world of full-size trucks, each model offers something unique, and the 2023 F-150 is no different. Ford’s full-size truck offers something known as Pro Power Onboard. This feature turns the F-150 into a portable generator, meaning it can power anything from tools to a house if it’s set up for it.
Another feature worth noting is the workspace that the Blue Oval offers to this truck. It’s an option that you do have to pay extra for, but it is essentially a fold-out desk surface. For those who need to do things like sign documents in their truck, it should be a pretty convenient thing to have.
Per Edmunds, these are cool features that you will not find on other trucks that are currently on the market. But that could change as other pickups catch up in terms of quirks.
Ford has electrified its full-size truck
The F-150 Lightning is really one of the first mass-produced electric trucks to hit the market. Sure, Tesla has promised the Cybertruck, but where is it? Ford has really put its money where its mouth is by making the F-150 an EV.
Now, the F-150 Lightning will certainly not be for everyone. But as Doug DeMuro shows in his video above, in a lot of ways, it does feel like a traditional truck. At the same time, the F-150 Lightning is not cheap. In fact, it does keep getting price hikes, which is unfortunate.
