Take cover, the Ford F-150 Lightning isn’t done striking! This electric truck continues to pick up more steam, and we don’t think it will slow down soon. Even as new rivals are about to enter the scene, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning keeps on growing.

More and more drivers are switching from traditional gas-powered trucks to the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. According to PC Mag, the Lightning is experiencing record-breaking sales without any signs of slowing down soon.

In October, the Lightning moved 2,436 units, which is the most models the Lightning has sold in one month since it launched last spring. Ford sold 6,261 electric vehicles in October, representing an increase of 120 percent compared to last October.

Also, this is a pretty big jump. In September Ford was proud of selling roughly 4,691 EVs in September. But the Ford F-150 Lightning doesn’t get all of the credit. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is responsible for a considerable chunk of sales too.

But the electric success comes with gas-powered declines. Vehicles like the Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Ford Edge, and Ford Ranger each experienced a significant decrease in sales.

Why is the F-150 Lightning so popular?

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning keeps racking up sales, so it’s clearly doing something right. One of the most popular features includes the frunk or front trunk. We’ve personally enjoyed how convenient it is.

The frunk adds 14.1 cubic feet of cargo space to the front. YOu can access it like a trunk, and it can be opened with a button on the key fob. You might be surprised by how much cargo it can hold. In fact, it holds up to 400 lbs.

It’s extremely convenient for loading groceries and can be used as a cooler. It has a drain plug at the bottom, allowing ice to melt. Plus, it’s lockable and weatherproof to protect your gear.

Plus, the F-150 Lightning packs a lot of power. The Pro Power Onboard Generator is a game changer. It provides 7.2-kW of power in the bed and 2.4-kW of power in the frunk. Multiple outlets are found in the frunk, cabin, and bed, providing tons of ways to plug things in.

The generator can be used to power a home for up to three days! It can also charge other electric vehicles if needed at a rate of up to 20 miles of range per hour. It can charge tools, campsites, tailgate parties, and more.

We used it to power a 5,000 lb camper with the lights, air conditioning, radio, mini fridge, and oven on. It was very impressive.

No, reservations for the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning are closed. You may have to find one of these trucks at a local dealership to get one. Otherwise, you can wait for reservations for the 2024 model to open.

Production of 2023 models is expected to begin by the end of 2022. If you have an order reservation, you may have to wait a few months before your order arrives. Ford received a much higher demand than expected and is working to fill existing orders.

This truck is racking up awards left and right as a powerful, innovative electric vehicle. Things probably won’t slow down for a long time.
