Put another point on the board for the Ram 1500. It’s still being picked as the best truck over the Ford F-150. Since the full-size Ram truck was redesigned for 2019, it’s been unstoppable. Now the 2023 Ram 1500 is the SEMA full-size truck of the year. 

The 2023 Ram 1500 is the best truck, again 

If we had a dollar for every award the Ram 1500 has won over the Ford F-150, then we might be able to afford a brand-new truck. It’s been the best truck brand since 2020, has won the J.D.Power Most Appeal award for the past three years in a row, and is the Car and Driver truck of the year. 

We could list awards all day long, but we will cut to the chase with the 2023 Ram 1500. It defeated the 2022 Ford F-150 as the SEMA full-size truck of the year, even though Ford brought incredible builds to the show. 

According to Torque News, the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show attracts thousands of automotive enthusiasts each year. Manufacturers bring tons of customized vehicles to display new personalization accessories for work and play. 

Exhibitors vote for the best vehicles that represent the premier opportunities in the automotive market. The Ram 1500 won because Stellantis has been working with Mopar to provide popular customization options straight from the factory. 

Plus, Mopar has created hundreds of after-market accessories for the pickup truck. Tons of Ram owners have personalized their rigs in some way. 

Which 1500 model stands out? 

The 2023 Ram 1500 Limited already brings a new level of luxury interior quality to the market. Now the Ram 1500 Limited Elite takes things even further. It adds premium bucket seats, a suede headliner, a customizable digital gauge cluster, a multifunction tailgate, and a jeweled rotary shifter. 

It also has a four-corner air suspension that can raise and lower the vehicle, power deployable running boards, a 12-inch infotainment screen, and a wireless charging pad. 

The 2023 Ford F-150 is the most luxurious model in the lineup. It comes with power running boards, a two-pannel moonroof, a power tailgate, specialized leather seats, massaging seats, a 360-degree surround view monitor, and the Pro Power OnBoard Generator. 

We’re surprised that the generator didn’t get Ford more votes. It can be used to power tools, campsites, and even a home for up to three days. 

The Limited Elite comes with the 5.7-liter V8 engine that cranks out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 Limited comes with a 5.0-liter V8 engine with 400 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. 

Does Ram have better features than Ford? 

The 2023 Ram 1500 has under-seat storage, lockable storage boxes on the sides of the bed, an automatic trailer reverse system, heated seats, ventilated seats, a multi-functional tailor gate, and an automated parking system. 

The 2023 Ford F-150 can be loaded with similar goodies as well. Plus, the tailgate and center console can be used as work surfaces. The onboard scales measure your payload, and the towing tech includes a smart hitch. 

Both of these trucks can be well-equipped for work and off-roading. But the Ram 1500 seems to be more luxurious and a little easier to customize.
