What makes the 2019 Ford Ranger so popular?

The 2019 Ranger has everything that you could possibly want out of a mid-size truck. It features a 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine that delivers up to 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque and the truck comes with a 2-wheel drive or a 4-wheel drive powertrain.

The truck may look small on the outside, but it comes equipped with plenty of power. It can tow up to 7,500 lbs. and haul up to 1,860 lbs., which puts it at the head of its class when it comes to towing and payload capacity.

The interior of the Ranger is equipped with the latest technology to ensure that you have a safe and convenient drive. The cabin features an 8-inch voice-activated touchscreen display that comes equipped with Bluetooth connectivity options as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Ranger also offers a host of driver-assist features, including a Pre-Collision Assist system with Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a Lane-Keep Assist system.

While the 2019 Ranger certainly has several desirable features, there are also a few aspects of the truck Ford accidentally messed up on and could potentially be very dangerous.

According to C-Net, last week, Ford announced that it was recalling 72,718 Rangers due to a faulty taillight. Ford has said that in the 2019 Rangers, it found a problem with the electrical connectors that control the lights.

The defect may cause the taillights to not work properly, and in some cases, not work at all. The problem is said to only affect the taillights that are on either side of the tailgate and does don’t affect the high-mounted brake lights at all.

This news has understandably angered some Ranger owners because this recall was announced only about a month after the last 2019 Ford Ranger recall was announced. Last month, Ford had found a problem with the 2019 Ranger’s HVAC system and was worried that the system was capable of catching fire. As a result, Ford had recalled around 20,00 Rangers in North America. This particular recall had affected Rangers that were manufactured between August 1, 2019 and September 27, 2019.

How to find out if your truck is part of the newest recall

Ford has yet to announce when affected customers can expect to be notified about the recall. However, if you have noticed that your taillights have not been working properly, then you need to get your Ranger down to your nearest Ford dealer as soon as possible so that they can check the electrical connection on the lights and quickly fix it if they need to.

If you haven’t received a notification from Ford yet but you are worried that your Ranger may be affected by the recall, you can visit the National Highway Traffic Administration’s website to check to see if your Ranger is part of the recall.
