The Ford Maverick minivan is happening, but why? 

During a Ford dealer network meeting in Las Vegas, Ford shared updates about potential new models. One model in particular stood out due to being cool and ridiculous at the same time. 

Reportedly, a Ford Maverick minivan is in the works. According to Ford Authority, the Maverick van will be assembled as a regular Maverick pickup truck with a tall bed cap. 

The miniature minivan will probably share multiple components with the Maverick truck, including its powertrain options. 

We might see the Maverick van sooner than expected as it could debut at the beginning of 2025. It could be built beside the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Maverick at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico. 

Hopefully, adding the van won’t slow the Maverick down. Even though Ford has been working to increase production, the Maverick still struggles to meet demand.

Previously, Ford planned to build the next-generation Transit Connect at the Hermosillo plant. But things have changed as the Transit faces declining sales in the United States. It lives on in Europe, though. 

The Ford Maverick minivan could have a standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. 

Also, the Maverick hybrid van could have the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with an electric motor to generate 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. 

The Maverick Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 42 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway. Plus, it can finally be paired with AWD. This sounds great for a tiny van. 

You can get started with the 2025 Maverick for about $26,295. This is just the MSRP, don’t forget about the destination fee and dealership markups. The Ford Maverick van could have similar pricing. Stay tuned for updates.
