The Ford Maverick Hybrid Ends Frustration With 1 New Feature
It’s time for little truck fans to celebrate. For years, the Ford Maverick Hybrid has been missing a crucial feature for off-roading and traversing slippery conditions. However, the 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid will solve this problem.
Will the 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid have AWD?
Rumors and recent spy shots suggest that the 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid will have all-wheel drive. This is a big deal because people have been begging for this feature since the Maverick Hybrid debuted in 2022.
In one photo of the rear end of the new Maverick, you can see a Hybrid badge in one corner and an AWD badge in the other.
Some people have held off on buying the Maverick hybrid because they live in areas where they need AWD during colder months or want to go off-roading with hybrid efficiency and instant torque.
However, this didn’t make much of a difference because this truck is still extremely popular and is hard to get.
The current Maverick Hybrid that can’t be paired with AWD only tows up to 2,000 lbs while the gas-powered Maverick with AWD can tow up to 4,000 lbs. But if the new Maverick Hybrid is available with the towing package thanks to having AWD, it might have more towing power.
But adding AWD may make the Maverick Hybrid heavier, impacting its immaculate fuel economy. The current Maverick Hybrid gets an EPA-estimated 42 mg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway.
The gas-powered Maverick gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and up to 29 mpg on the highway. So, the Maverick Hybrid with AWD will probably be more efficient than that at least.
Also, the 2025 Maverick could be getting a mid-cycle refresh. Spy shots show a more confident front end with wrap-around headlights and a larger grille with a diamond pattern. You can also spot large tires.
Some rumors suggest this is the Maverick ST model we have been waiting for. But information about this racing truck is still being kept under wraps.
Plus, the interior shows a larger infotainment system that looks like the 13.4-inch unit that’s currently found in the Ford Escape.
Stay tuned for updates!
