One truck has your back if the engine fails. The Ford Maverick Hybrid comes with one free engine replacement. So, that should put your mind at ease. However, what if the engine in the 2020 – 2023 Maverick Hybrid models fails a second time?

2020 – 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid trucks have 1 complimentary new engine

Remember in July, 20203, when the Ford Maverick Hybrid faces a recall due to an engine fire risk? Well, there might still be smoke to deal with.

The recall was related to the possibility of engine oil and fuel vapor being released into the engine compartment near ignition sources including hot engine or exhaust components. This increased the risk of fire.

At the time, this recall didn’t have a remedy. But now the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) is taking action.

2022 – 2023 Maverick trucks with the 2.5-liter hybrid engine are eligible for one free engine replacement due to a connecting rod bearing problem that may require engine long block replacement.

Your Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) may illuminate and store Diagnositce Trouble Codes (DTCs) if a faulty connecting rod bearing is detected by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
