Ford Maverick problems lead to free accesories
If you’ve had to take your Ford Maverick in for service due to a recall, then check the mail. Ford Authority shared that some drivers are receiving a Ford Maverick-themed Yeti tumbler with a special note.
The letter thanks drivers for bringing their Maverick in for repairs with understanding and patience. It mentions that keeping drivers and passengers safe is a top priority and that they’re appreciated.
Also, the note apologizes for the inconvenience that recalls may cause. The tumbler is double-wall vacuum insulated to keep beverages at the perfect temperature during adventures. Also, it reminds people that whatever you’re into, you can Make it with Maverick.
The tumbler has a Built Ford Tough logo on one side and the Maverick logo on the other. Now Maverick owners can drink their coffee, tea, water, or whatever with truck pride.
But why aren’t Ford F-150, Explorer, Expedition, or other models sending out presents for inconvenient recalls?
How reliable is the Maverick?
The 2023 Ford Maverick has a predicted reliabilty score of 81 out of 100 from J.D.Power. This puts it in the above average catagory. Scores between 81 to 90 are above average while anything between 91 and 100 is best. This score is based on issues reported by previous owners and related models.
Related vehicles include the Ford Escape and the Ford Bronco Sport. However, the Bronco Sport isn’t the most reliable vehicle in the bunch. Also, the Maverick is still brand new. It needs to be put through the paces to see how it holds up.
Some critics estimate that the Maverick can reach 200,000 miles, but only time will tell. Also, regular care and proper maintenance make a difference.
The 2022 Ford Maverick has six recalls so far. This number isn’t the best, but the 2022 Ford F-150 struggles against nine recalls and has been around for a lot longer.
The recalls are related to unintended illumination of the brake lights, improper deployment of the airbags, an engine compartment fire risk, loss of trailer brake functionality, improperly attached seat belts, and a damaged fuel tank that could result in fire.
So it sounds like the Ford Maverick has struggled with a few different electrical and mechanical issues that increase the risk of accidents and fire.
Is the 2022 Maverick safe?
Maybe, the 2023 Ford Maverick hasn’t been officially 100% tested for safety ratings yet. But the Maverick’s automatic safety features recieved a Superiro score for th eabilty to avoid collisions with pedestrians and other vehicles.
Standard safety features include automated emergency braking. Most rivals have more safety features included across their entire lineups. Why is the Maverick holding out on things like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot warning?
Will your Maverick tumbler compensate for the lack of safety features and lost time due to repairs? At least you can poor beverages on the Maverick if it catches on fire! This last bit is in jest, the Maverick could be a safe truck. Stay tuned for updates.
