The Ford Maverick Tremor Has Arrived
The 2023 Ford Maverick just got some exciting news. Apparently, this compact pickup truck will be getting a new package, known as the Tremor package. Those familiar with the Ford brand will undoubtedly recognize the name. Popular models like the Ranger and the F-150 also have the Tremor package available to them. This package will be offered alongside the FX4 Off-Road package, and it will give buyers a more capable small truck.
Can you buy a Maverick with the Tremor package?
For 2023, Ford has announced that the Maverick is getting the Tremor package. According to MotorTrend, this package will cost $2,995. Unfortunately, not every small Ford truck can come with this option. You must purchase either the Maverick XLT or Maverick Lariat in order to get a Tremor truck.
Additionally, buyers must opt for the more powerful EcoBoost engine and all-wheel drive. Both of which will add more cost to this compact pickup. But, if you are shopping for an off-road truck and want something small, the Tremor package will likely be worth it to you.
What does Tremor mean on a Ford truck?
The Tremor package is typically an indication of some off-road upgrades for a Ford truck. On the 2023 Maverick, that will mean an upgraded AWD system and a torque-vectoring rear differential. Additionally, there is something known as Trail Control, which is like a cruise control setting for off-road use.
Other changes to the Maverick Tremor will include things like orange accents and tow hooks. Plus, the suspension will be beefier and have a 1-inch lift kit. For those who want to take the road less traveled, the 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor should be a fairly impressive truck. Even with its compact sizing.

Since the Ford Maverick was just introduced in 2022, it was unclear what all would be changing for the new version. The biggest update it seems right now is the available Tremor package. For the 2022 model, buyers could opt for the FX4 Off-Road package. And that did make some impressive changes. But, it looks like the Tremor package will be more extreme.
The 2023 model should be going on sale later this fall, and when order banks do open, you should probably plan to act quickly. Buying a 2022 Ford Maverick right now only feels impossible. In fact, Ford was forced to close customer order banks due to demand. So, hopefully, for 2023, some of those issues get sorted out.
Should you buy a Maverick Tremor?
If you want a capable, small truck, the Maverick Tremor might be right for you. Even though the Maverick is a unibody truck, it is still fairly capable. It looks like the Tremor package will mean forgoing on some things like towing capacity. But, that trade-off may be worth it to some.
