“Range anxiety” is a term coined in recent years to describe the fear of running out of power while operating an electric vehicle. Have you ever almost run out of gas? Many Americans feel that EV ownership is like constantly living on the brink of having an empty fuel tank.

If you run out of gas with an internal combustion engine vehicle, the process to fuel your vehicle up could be much simpler. A friend or family member could meet you at the location your vehicle stopped at with a canister of gasoline from a local gas station.

Refueling an EV that has completely run out of juice is much more complicated. Companies have developed portable electric vehicle chargers, but will those chargers be enough to cure America’s range anxiety? Electric vehicle sales have gradually increased in America, but internal combustion engines still rule the roads. We may not see EVs become as common as internal combustion engine vehicles until near 2030.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 may not completely soothe range anxiety, but it’s a huge step forward for EVs. Its driving range may be enough to soothe the range anxiety of many consumers. According to Car and Driver, the Mach-E California Route 1 is Ford’s longest-range electric vehicle. The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 has 314 miles of driving range. The current industry standard for electric SUVs is roughly between 200 and 250 miles of driving range.

The Mach-E California Route 1 comes with a hefty price tag, but incentives make it much more affordable. It starts at $52,775. After the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax incentive, its price is closer to $45,275. That’s incredibly affordable for an electric vehicle with over 300 miles of driving range.

Range is one of the most important electric vehicle specs. The Mach-E is reasonably priced considering its value, but tax incentives make it a deal that’s tough to refuse.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 worth the money?

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 is worth the money because range is just part of its overall appeal. The Mach-E is spacious, stylish, intuitive, and best of all, it’s fun to drive.

The Mach-E California Route 1 makes 290 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. That’s 100 more horses than a gas-powered Honda CR-V. Who said electric SUVs couldn’t be exciting? The Mach-E California Route 1 is worth the money (for now) but it could lose tax credit eligibility in the next few years.
