Ford and the Mustang Mach-E are likely to gain on Tesla Model Y sales next year. The Tesla Model Y is experiencing price hikes and supply shortages. Here’s why the Ford Mustang Mach-E is going to squash the Tesla Model Y.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is much more affordable

The Tesla Model Y once started at $39,990. According to Autoweek, the Model Y now starts at $60,190. Tesla is notorious for price bumps. The Model Y’s price has fluctuated frequently, and it only seems to get higher as time goes on.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a much more affordable electric SUV. The Mach-E starts at $42,895. Its price becomes $35,395 after federal tax incentives.

The Tesla Model Y was once a great electric SUV option, but with a starting price of $60,190, it is hardly accessible for most Americans. Even after tax incentives, the Mach-E is thousands of dollars cheaper than the Model Y and still offers both incredible range and torque.

When the Blue Oval first announced that it was electrifying its Mustang nameplate, some Ford fans were less than pleased. How could an electric SUV possibly be a Mustang?

The electric SUV quickly proved that it had muscle car power. Thanks to Ford’s engineers, the Mach-E is just as much a Mustang as any of its predecessors. The Mach-E GT is a perfect example of how the Mustang’s legacy lives on in the new electric SUV.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT makes a whopping 459 horsepower. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds. The Mustang Mach-E is quickly gaining popularity because of its speed and rapid acceleration. Electric vehicles were once viewed as dull and inefficient. This electric SUV is proving that EVs can be incredibly powerful and fun to drive.

The Tesla Model Y was becoming a popular electric crossover option, but it is no longer attainable for most drivers. The Mach-E is a welcome alternative as sales increase and Ford rolls out a new model year.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is an integral part of the Blue Oval’s plan for the future. President Joe Biden wants 50% of new vehicles produced by 2030 to be electric. American automakers have stated that they could electrify 40% of new vehicles produced by 2030. Either way, EVs are taking over the automotive industry in the years to come.

Ford has a rich history of producing quality automobiles. Tesla is a much newer company and has experienced many obstacles during its ascension to becoming a competitive automaker. While Tesla has produced several successful vehicles, the company has been plagued with price hikes and supply issues.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has the potential to squash the Tesla Model Y because it has the full support of one of the big three American automakers behind it. President Biden has expressed disdain for Tesla’s refusal to unionize workers. This strained relationship between Tesla and the President could be detrimental to the automaker’s growth as Biden backs EVs produced in America by unionized workers.

Ultimately, the odds are stacked against the Tesla Model Y as its price increases along with delivery times. The Mustang Mach-E could dethrone the Model Y as the best-selling electric SUV in 2022.
