The Ford Mustang Wins Another Award Yet Again
The Ford Mustang sits among the elites of respected American muscle cars. Love them or hate, the Mustang can produce power, offer practicality, and in lower models with smaller engines, it can also work as a responsible daily driver. All around, there are a lot of reasons why the Ford Mustang is so popular, and this year it wins just another award, proving it’s worthy of its reputation.
The 2021 Ford Mustang
The 2021 Ford Mustang is just another model year of the popular muscle car, with just as many options as ever to appeal to many buyers. This year again, Ford is proud to announce that the car has won the title of best-selling sports car coupe. This will be the sixth consecutive year that the Mustang has won the title, making it the top-selling sports car coupe amongst all of its competitors.
Why is the Mustang so successful
There are a lot of reasons why Ford sold 80,577 Mustangs in 2020, representing an impressive 15.1% of the world’s market of sports coupes. This was an increase from 14.8% in 2019, showing that the car is continuing to grow in momentum. The manufacturer claims this is due to its extensive lineup of model options that make it appealing to so many buyers. The EcoBoost models make it a fun and enjoyable option as a daily driver, but performance options from Bullitt as well as the Shelby model offerings of the GT350, GT350R, and GT500 give it a leg up over many competitors.
Performance and potential for the Ford Mustang
The performance models of the Ford Mustang skyrocketed in popularity last year, with Bullitt and Shelby model sales increasing a shocking 52.7% between 2019 and 2020. Along with that, Ford has decided to make a bigger name for the Mustang, extending the title out to the brand’s newest all-electric SUV option, the Ford Mustang Mach-E. While it won’t surprise anyone to know that this won’t qualify as sales to promote the prestigious title again this year, Ford claims that the new model will “continue Mustang momentum.”
Because the vehicle is so popular and seemingly everywhere on the roads, many sports car fans of other brands have plenty of negative things to say about the Mustang, but statistics don’t lie — and they show that once again, the Ford Mustang is coming out on top.
