The Ford Ranger MS-RT Is a Forbidden Race Truck
Why must Ford toy with our emotions? We’ve already complained numerous times that the Ford Ranger has cooler models in other countries, including a PHEV model. Now other countries get to brag about the 2024Ford Ranger MS-RT.
What is 2024 the Ford Ranger MS-RT?
The 2024 Ford Ranger MS-RT is an aggressive sports truck that was developed with the help of the M Sport rally team. They helped crafter a lowered, sportier version of the truck that’s ready for street racing.
But don’t get too excited because the Ranger MS-RT isn’t coming to America. It’s an exclusive model in Europe.
The Toyota Tacoma X-Runner concept is another disappointment because as we hope for the return of street trucks, it was just a SEMA concept that won’t make it to production.
The Ranger MS-RT rides on 21-inch wheels wrapped in 275/45 Continental ContiSport Contact tires. The suspension was lowered by 1.6 inches to provide a more confident look and to improve its handling.
Also, the trackwidth was widened by 1.6 inches on both sides to incorporate the larger tires. Suspension upgrades include firmer dampers in the front and retuning adjustments in the rear.
The front bumper has a unique look as it was restyled to incorporate vertical vents and a front splitter. The tailgate and roof have spoilers to improve high-speed stability.
Its look is completed by side skirts with a vent behind the front wheel and a unique rear bumper shape with a diffuser.
The interior is inviting thanks to faux leather-trimmed bucket seats with suede inserts and plenty of side bolstering. An MS-RT badge can be found on the dash and the sterling wheel flaunts a blue noon marker.
Sadly, the engine doesn’t get an extra power. The Ranger MS-RT is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that cranks out 237 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
This truck can still tow and carry the same amount. It will be offered through Ford Pro dealerships in Europe and deliveries will begin in the middle of the year.
Americans have to miss out on yet another cool Ranger. But this does provide hope for an ST version in the United States.
