Ford Trucks and SUVs With Massaging Seats
Sometimes you just need a little extra luxury in your Ford trucks and SUVs. The Ford F-150 pickup truck and F-150 Lightning come with massaging seats, which Ford calls “active motion.” Ford offers a few different types of seats. Some some lean back all the way, but not all trim levels come equipped with massaging seats. The Ford Explorer and Expedition also have at least one trim level with active motion seats.
Don’t worry, the Ford F-150 truck has massaging seats
In the 2022 Ford F-150 pickup truck, you can get massaging seats on some of the higher trims. Starting with the Ford F-150 Platinum, buyers get the “Heated and Ventilated Leather Front Bucket Seats with Active Motion.” Active motion is the key phrase here, as Ford doesn’t outright call it massaging seats any longer. Buyers can opt for Black or Carmelo (tan) colored seats on this Ford truck.
You can also add the Max Recline Driver and Passenger Seat for $340, which will allow drivers to pay the seats back all the way. Ford says this provides head, neck, and thoracic support for those mid-day naps.

Don’t forget the Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck!
The Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck is another option that has massaging seats for this year. The Platinum trim comes with features like a Vador Black grille, 22-inch wheels, and an extended range battery. Plus, the F-150 Lightning gets the multi-contour front seats with Active Motion. Of course, the Lightning is pretty much sold out into next year and doesn’t come cheap. The Lightning Platinum Ford truck will start at $90,474, if you can even find one.

The Ford Explorer SUV has Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion
The Ford Explorer SUV also gets the option of the Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion. This is available on some of the higher-end trim options such as the ST, King Ranch and Platinum trims and works with the heated and ventilated seats. The Active Motion feature is supposed to help decrease driver fatigue on longer journeys. Ford says it offers five different massage settings to keep the driver and front-seat passenger comfortable.
Buyers also get second-row captain’s seats that can be heated. Ford offers E-Z entry for the second-row seats so third-row passengers can get in the back easily. On top of that, buyers get the power-fold third-row seats in the Platinum trim.
Price: $53,345
If you need an extra-large vehicle, the Ford Expedition offers massaging seats
The Ford Expedition is another popular sport utility vehicle from the automaker. The Expedition SUV is one of the larger SUVs in the lineup and even comes in a long-wheelbase option, the Expedition Max. This adds $2,000 to the Ford SUV and offers 36 cubic feet of space behind the third row. That is 79.6 cubic feet of space total in the Max version. Most of the top-level trims on the Expedition also get the multicontour front seats with Active Motion.
Price: $76,000
There is a good chance of finding massaging seats on many top-level trims of Ford trucks and SUVs. It seems to be an option more buyers want, but it does come at an expense. If you are interested in active motion seats, try calling your local dealership to inquire if this can be added to your next car, truck, or SUV.
