This mid-size pickup now features a standard 3.8-liter V6 engine. Instead of having to pay extra for more power, the Frontier comes with it at every trim level. And that is something that is lucky to be appreciated. The V6 makes 310 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque, it is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Does the 2022 Nissan Frontier have a locking differential?
Depending on the trim level, the Frontier does have an electronically locking rear differential. This feature is offered to the 2022 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X along with some other off-road features like Bilstein shocks. The 2022 Frontier SV offers a good mix of values and features. It is a step above the base model, which means it is slightly more equipped than the S, which is essentially a work truck. The SV may not be as capable as something like the PRO-4X, but unless you are planning on doing serious off-roading it should be enough.
The SV Frontier is available in a variety of trim levels and can come with 4WD. But if you don’t want a 4WD truck, you can get it with RWD. And it comes with all of the updates Nissan has made for the 2022 Frontier.
