As for the 2021 Toyota RAV4? It’s not exactly built to take on the trails. All models are standard with front-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is available. Opt for an all-wheel drive model or the RAV4 TRD, and the RAV4 does add a Multi-Terrain Select system. However, those systems aren’t really enough to make the RAV4 a true-offroader. So if you plan on hitting the trails someday soon? You’re going to want to stick with the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport.

The interior of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is built for adventure

If you plan on doing some off-roading, you’re going to need a versatile interior to match. Fortunately, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport’s interior is extremely versatile. In fact, it’s practically the definition of versatile. This year’s model offers up seating for up to five people and boasts best-in-class first and second-row headroom. It offers plenty of storage under the second-row seats, which can also fold flat for even more storage. 

And if that’s not enough to convince you that the interior of this year’s Bronco Sport is incredibly versatile? Then opt for a Bronco Sport that’s been outfitted with the SUV’s available cargo management system, camp table, bottle opener, and class-exclusive zipper pockets with the MOLLE strap system.

Unfortunately for the Toyota RAV4, its interior isn’t exactly built for adventure. Sure, it offers up seating for up to five passengers. And according to Car and Driver, this year’s model “prioritizes ergonomics and cubby storage.” But what the RAV4’s interior doesn’t offer are features like a camp table, rearseat storage, or the MOLLE strap system.

Is the Bronco Sport the right SUV for you?

As adventure-ready as the Ford Bronco Sport may be, maybe that’s not the kind of SUV that you’re after. If that’s the case, then the Toyota RAV4 does make for a decent pick among its segment. It certainly helps that the Bronco Sport and the RAV4 are similar in price.
