However, the brand-new TruckHouse BCT is set to change that. According to MotorTrend, this Tacoma Camper is made to order, and it’s reinforced with carbon fiber. As a result, it’ll cost you a pretty penny as well.
What is a Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro TruckHouse BCT?
As the name suggests, the TruckHouse BCT utilizes a Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro as its base. What makes the TRD Pro model special is the addition of off-roading goodies such as FOX suspension, chunky tires, and a ton of onboard tech to make your journeys easy. The TruckHouse BCT package is offered in several customizable stages. You don’t even need to use a TRD Pro model for the first two stages. A TRD Access Cab or TRD Sport will do.
According to MotorTrend, Truckhouse BCT’s Stage 1 pack adds 33-inch tires and long-travel suspension. Additionally, you get a custom rear axle, rear bumper, and even a reinforced chassis. MotorTrend reports that Stage 2 adds 35-inch tires, an air compressor, front winch, snorkel, and a modified front bumper.
However, if you want the best out of this truck, you’re going to need the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. Opting for the range-topping truck allows you to opt for the Stage 3 pack. This includes tougher front and rear winches, auxiliary lighting, locking differentials, and an upgraded long-travel suspension. Keep in mind, this only concerns the truck. How much does this truck cost?
The truck’s bed is essentially scratched to turn this Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro into a livable camper. Instead, MotorTrend reports that you get a carbon-fiber-reinforced camper installed in the rear of the truck. You get seven dual-pane windows, an oven, a skylight, a fridge, a freezer. In terms of power, MotorTrend reports that you get a lithium-ion battery pack with a solar pane on the roof to charge it up.
If you want your Toyota Tacoma TRD-based house to be slightly more luxurious, you can option a 32-inch TV, heated floors, air conditioning, a heater, and internet. However, this is not the complete list of available extras. If this sounds a bit expensive, that’s because it is. According to MotorTrend, the TruckHouse BCT starts at $285,000.
According to MotorTrend, you have to purchase the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro on your own and deliver it to TruckHouse to begin the conversion. Fully optioned out, RoadShow reports that you could easily spend up to $350,000 on this Overlanding rig.
