The Most Fuel-Efficient 2023 Honda Accord Still Costs Under $35,000
Hybrid cars are getting more expensive every year. However, the all-new 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid is still reasonably priced. We’re not talking about the base gas-powered model, either. Honda priced the mid-level Accord EX-L Hybrid under $35,000, making it one of the most fuel-efficient and well-priced hybrid sedans that you can currently buy.
How much does the 2023 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid cost?
The 2023 Honda Accord EX-L Hybrid has a starting price of $33,540, which is about $1,700 more than the base trim level. That entry-level trim, the 2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid, has a starting MSRP of $31,895, which is only around $2,000 more than the gas-powered Accord EX. That’s a bargain considering what you get for the money. Honda even beefed up the Accord Hybrid’s powertrain this year and gave the base sport trim a few interior enhancements.
The Accord Sport Hybrid comes standard with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, Berlina Black 19-inch wheels, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system. That’s right, even the entry-level model comes with a massive 12.3-inch unit that comes with a physical volume knob, wireless Apple Carplay, and Android Auto.
The Accord EX-L trim level adds to the Sport trim with front and rear parking sensors, a moonroof, leather seats, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Best of all, the new Accord Hybrid makes more power this year and is capable of stellar fuel efficiency numbers.
What kind of gas mileage does the 2023 Honda Accord get?
For the 2023 model year, Honda made the Accord hybrid a little more efficient. That extra efficiency equates to an EPA-estimated 46 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. Compare that to the gas-only model’s 29 mpg and 37 mpg ratings, respectively, and you’ll start to see how much value the hybrid model brings to the table.
Stepping up to the Accord Hybrid EX-L adds the more-powerful hybrid powertrain, which equates to more power and more fuel efficiency. How much? According to the EPA ratings, the Accord Hybrid EX-L can achieve up to 51 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.
But that’s not all; the new hybrid setup includes a more refined 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that’s mated to a two-motor system. Altogether, the hybrid system puts out 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent through a CVT and out to the front wheels.
In addition to added mpg, the 2023 Accord has a sleek new look
Power and gas mileage aside, the 2023 Honda Accord has a sleek new look. The sides of the car are smoothed over with the addition of a lower beltline. The front end looks bolder, and the rear end features a new tail light style. Overall, the 2023 Honda Accord presents a great value proposition no matter which trim level you choose.
However, if you want the most miles per gallon without needing to spend $35,000, the 2023 Accord EX-L Hybrid trim is the one to pick.
