Although the Chevy Bolt EV recently faced battery issues, this compact electric car still rates highly among reviewers. So if you’re scoping out a Bolt, get to know the two trim levels: 1LT and 2LT. 

According to Chevrolet, the 1LT offers standard amenities starting at $31,995. On the other hand, the 2LT comes with more premium features, such as a driver assistance package, for a starting price of $35,195. 

But if you’re looking for a totally decked-out Chevy Bolt EV, here’s what it will cost.

How much is a fully loaded 2022 Chevy Bolt EV?

In terms of options, the Chevy Bolt EV 2LT trim level is the more outfitted of the two trims. The 2LT comes standard with 17-ich aluminum wheels, leather-trimmed seats, and driver assistance technology.  

When you start tacking on optional features, they include things like a dual-level charging cord and adaptive cruise control. If you’re into premium sound, there’s also an infotainment package with Bose speakers. 

You can also choose between an interior package that includes carpeted and all-weather floor mats or another option with only all-weather floor mats (but this one also includes all-weather cargo mats). You can’t select both of those packages, however, because Chevrolet must not want you to mistakenly end up with two sets of all-weather mats.

If you really want to go crazy, there’s a cosmetic option of aluminum sill plates and other add-ons of a tire inflator kit, sunshade, and cargo net. The grand total for all manufactureer options brings the total MSRP to $37,200. The cost decreases by $500 if you pay cash instead of financing.

How the cost and value stack up

Though the options are nice to have, one of the typical draws of upgraded trim levels includes some kind of performance boost. That’s not the case with the Chevy Bolt EV 2LT, fully loaded or not. 

Besides that, the 2LT offers more creature comforts as standard features, like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel that adjusts based on the outside temperature. There are also sought-after safety features including an expanded HD surround camera system (the 1LT includes only a back-up camera). 

If those fancy features are important to you, the value is definitely there. The upgraded trim takes the standard Bolt EV and makes it slightly more competitive. 

Which 2022 Chevy Bolt EV trim should you buy? 

The answer to that question depends on your preference and whether you are looking to upgrade from your current vehicle or make a more frugal choice. The cost difference isn’t huge between the 1LT and 2LT, though, so you would have to weigh what impact it made on your monthly payments or overall finances.

If you’re looking for an EV with more features, expanded infotainment, and cooler interior options, the fully loaded Chevy Bolt EV 2LT is definitely the choice for you. It’s also preferable if you are used to luxurious amenities like heated seats and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. These extras sweeten the deal if this is your first foray into the EV world.

For a more utilitarian choice, the 1LT suffices. It’s what you’d go for if you wanted an entry-level EV to get you from point A to point B reliably. Plus, from the outside, this trim doesn’t look much different from the ranger-topper, and you still have the benefit of an EV with a quick-charging option.
