According to Car and Driver, the Passport has the same powertrain under the hood used in the three-row Honda Pilot. It’s a 3.5-liter V6 with a power output of 280 hp paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The base model has a front-wheel-drive configuration.

Trailsport features
At heart, the new Trailsport model is the original Passport. The Trailsport gets a gloss black grille, a new hood, and updated front and rear bumpers with faux skid-plate inserts. It helps Trailsport stand out from the generic styling of the basic Passport. It also gets gloss black badging with orange-accented Trailsport emblems. The Trailsport features roof rails, power-folding side mirrors, and a heated wiper rest zone that helps prevent icing.
The orange accents are found in the cabin as well, with embroidered headrests and contrast stitching to add some panache. Its interior can’t match the upscale cabins of Accord or Civic, but there’s plenty of space and clever storage spaces. It comes with ambient interior lighting, a navigation system, and a 115-volt power outlet.
Trailsport comes with 245/60R-18 Firestone Destination LE 2 all-season tires. They feature better shoulder tread to give them a solid grip on most terrains. There’s no suspension lift, unlike the Trailsport models of the Honda Pilot. But with the all-wheel drive configuration, it has an 8.1-inch ground clearance and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.
The AWD system helps you manage rough terrain with Normal, Sand, Snow, and Mud drive modes. Trailsport doesn’t come with outer trail cameras or extra protection for the underbody.
The new Trailsport models have fuel economy on par with the other Passport models. It gets 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway with the AWD configuration.
