A Fully-Loaded 2022 Kia Forte Is Still a Cheap New Car Under $30,000
Owning a new car comes with a lot of perks. The new-car smell and sleek exterior are just the tips of the new-car iceberg. However, the price often interferes with the dream, so many people search for a cheap new car. While the 2022 Kia Forte isn’t necessarily cheap, it offers some features often reserved for more expensive vehicles.
How much does a fully loaded 2022 Kia Forte cost?
Using Kia’s online pricing tool to add options results in a starting point for comparing different Kia Forte trim levels. The prices listed here are specific to one region of the United States and vary depending on your location and any additional dealer fees. As a result, your final price could be higher or lower.
2022 Kia Forte FE
For a base trim, Kia lists the 2022 Kia Forte FE starting price at $20,145 and provides features like a 147-hp 2.0-liter I-4 engine that makes 132 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the Forte FE uses an Intelligent Continuously Variable Transmission (IVT) that, depending on various factors, delivers up to 41 mpg during highway driving.
Tech features like an 8-inch infotainment touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and safety technology like lane following assist, driver attention warnings, and forward collision avoidance assist come standard on the Forte FE. After adding every available option available on Kia’s website, a fully loaded 2022 Kia Forte FE price is $21,430.
2022 Kia Forte LXS
Edmunds says the Forte LXS is Kia’s most popular Forte, with a starting MSRP of $20,645. The Forte LXS uses the same engine and transmission as the Forte FE but offers slightly lower fuel economy at 39 mpg on the highway. The base LXS trim features all the standard FE technology and safety systems plus upgrades like 16-inch alloy wheels, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and automatic headlights with high-beam assist.
The most significant benefit the LXS trim has over the FE is its available options. For starters, more paint colors like Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black, and Currant Red appear as options. Then there’s the LXS Technology Package for $500, which provides blind-spot, rear cross-traffic, and other driver-assist features. After adding all the options, a fully loaded 2022 Kia Forte LXS price is $22,785.

The GT-Line Premium Package offers those features and adds a power sunroof, LED interior lighting, a wireless phone charger, Highway Driving Assistance, and an upgraded sound system for $1,700.
Adding the GT-Line Sport Premium Package for an additional $1,000 ($2,700 total) adds heated and ventilated front seats with exclusive GT stitching, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, rear airconditioning vent, and a rear USB charging port. A fully loaded 2022 Kia Forte GT-Line costs $25,785.
2022 Kia Forte GT

The optional GT2 Package adds the same equipment as the GT-Line Sport Premium Package, plus a power sunroof and a parking distance warning when in reverse. Adding all the options drives the price to $27,740.
2022 Kia Forte GT Manual
If you prefer a cheap new car with a manual transmission, the Forte GT Manual is your only option. The GT Manual comes standard with most of the fully-loaded GT options, plus it’s equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 Summer tires, although it is missing some of the driver-assist features. Fully loaded, the 2022 Kia Forte GT Manual costs $26,345.
