Buyers of the 2022 Rivian R1S have a choice of two trims: Explore Package and Adventure Package. There is also an R1S Launch Edition model, but it has already sold out. The starting price of the R1S Explore package is $70,000, while the Adventure Package costs $75,500.

With the R1S Adventure Package, you’ll get several feature upgrades over the R1S Explore Package. This includes:

Exterior and interior feature options for the 2022 Rivian R1S
For an added cost, you can add exterior options to the 2022 Rivian R1S, such as premium paint color options. The R1S offers two no-cost color options (LA Silver and Glacier White), five mid-tier $1,500 color options (Red Canyon, Midnight, Limestone, Forest Green, and El Cap Granite), and two top-tier $2,500 color options (Rivian Blue and Compass Yellow).
You can also get special tires for the Rivian R1S. This includes 20″ All-Terrain Bright ($1,800), 20″ All-Terrain ($1,800), 20″ All-Terrain Dark ($3,500), 22″ Sport Bright ($1,800), and 22″ Sport Dark ($3,500).
The Off-Road Upgrade, which costs $2,000, enhances the off-road capabilities of the R1S. It includes a reinforced underbody shield and dual front bumper tow hooks. Also, for another $450, you can get a compact spare tire for the R1S.
For the interior, the only feature option for the R1S is the Forest Edge color option, which costs $2,000. The other two interior color options, Black Mountain and Ocean Coast, are included in the price of the R1S.

To make the most of your wilderness excursions, the 2022 Rivian R1S offers adventure gear accessories. This includes cargo crossbars ($450), a three-person tent with cargo crossbars ($2,650), a field kit ($150), an off-road recovery kit ($600), all-weather floor mats ($175), a rooftop bike mountain mount ($250), a snowboard/ski mount ($320), a kayak mount ($220), and a SUP/surfboard mount ($300). Also, for a price of $500, you can get a wall charger for the R1S.
When you buy the Adventure Package with all of the accessories and the most expensive feature options, a fully loaded 2022 Rivian R1S will cost around $91,000.
When will the 2022 Rivian R1S be released and available?
The 2022 Rivian R1S will be released in early 2022. Customers can now configure the R1S and place an order on the Rivian site. A refundable $1,000 deposit is required to reserve the R1S. Availability is a concern, though, for the waitlist to receive an order of the R1S could be as long as two years.
