After years of rumors, electric vehicle manufacturer Fisker is nearly ready to begin production of its first vehicle, the 2023 Fisker Ocean electric SUV. The Ocean has been a frequent subject of conversation among EV enthusiasts because of its reported technological breakthroughs, but it has also been the subject of questions. One common question has been what the luxury SUV will cost. Fortunately, Fisker has answered that question, and the price of the Ocean might be a surprise.

At launch, Fisker will offer four trim levels of the 2023 Fisker Ocean, and the base model, the Fisker Ocean Sport, is relatively affordable for a luxury electric SUV. According to Fisker, the Fisker Ocean Sport has a starting MSRP of $37,499.

The Fisker Ocean Sport features the same futuristic style as higher-level trims, and the company advertises it as an entry-level EV. Along with this affordable price, though, there are limitations to the Fisker Ocean Sport. It is only available as a single-motor front-wheel drive and has an estimated range of 250 miles. This is not a bad range, but less than the other Fisker Ocean trims.

The next trim level above the Fisker Ocean Sport is the Fisker Ocean Ultra, which is marketed as a more adventure-ready SUV. The Ultra trim features an all-wheel drive setup and a range of up to 340 miles. However, these added perks come at a cost, as the 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra starts at $49,999.

How much does a Launch Edition Fisker Ocean cost?

At the top trim levels, Fisker offers the Ocean Extreme and Ocean One (Launch Edition). These models are priced at $68,999, making them more than $30,000 more expensive than the base Fisker Ocean Sport.

We will have to wait for the Fisker Ocean to enter production to truly see if the top trims justify these high prices, but we do know that they offer features that set them apart from the Sport and Ultra editions.

The Fisker Ocean Extreme is marketed as a performance SUV that is as capable off-road as it is on the highway. This can be seen in its estimated acceleration. Fisker states that the Ocean Extreme can get from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds with 550 horsepower.

The Fisker Ocean One is intended to serve as the luxury Launch Edition of the Ocean lineup. It will include infotainment features in other models, unique interior color, and special wheels. To mark it as a commemorative vehicle, Fisker also states that the Ocean One will come with a “digital signature” that identifies the vehicle as a true Launch Edition Fisker.

The Fisker Ocean features an innovative technology

Despite the luxury and sports features of the Fisker Ocean Extreme and Ocean One, the MSRP is still quite significant. Fisker does have one feature that sets these two trims apart from other Ocean models as well as other EVs on the market. This feature is the SolarSky, a roof panel that absorbs rays from the sun to charge the Ocean. According to Fisker, Ocean drivers can expect about 1,500 extra miles from the SolarSky annually. Currently, the SolarSky roof cannot be added to 2023 Fisker Ocean Sport or Ultra models.

For drivers interested in owning a Fisker Ocean, Fisker currently has an open reservation page. While production on the Ocean has not yet started, Fisker has seen an astonishing number of reservations. According to Fiskerati, Fisker recently passed 60,000 reservations for the Ocean.
