The Nissan Altima is not the most popular sedan on the market, as the Toyota Camry or Corolla usually takes this honor, but it’s a decent vehicle for the price. The lower trims for the Altima offer great value and are affordable as well. You’re going to be shelling out quite a bit for the top trim level and all the options, however.

There are several trims on the 2023 Nissan Altima

The 2023 Nissan Altima has two engine options. The first is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 188 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque, while the second is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine with variable-compression technology. 

Nissan wasn’t stingy with the standard features, and the lowest trim level offers accessories such as blind spot and lane departure warnings, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention alert, pre-collision safety system, and more. Higher trim levels offer even better features. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio do not come standard, so you’ll have to upgrade your trim level to get these features if that’s something you’re interested in.

The lower trim levels of the 2023 Nissan Altima are rather affordable, but there is a steep increase in prices that many can’t afford. Nissan reports the lowest trim level is the S, with an MSRP of $25,490. Next is the SV, which costs $27,690, followed by the SV with intelligent AWD which costs $27,790.

The SR with AWD is the fourth trim level and costs $29,190. SL with AWD is the fifth trim level and has a price tag of $33,690. The SR VC-Turbo with FWD is the highest trim level.

How much does a fully loaded 2023 Nissan Altima cost?

The Altima SR VC-Turbo FWD is the most expensive, with an MSRP of $35,190. Once you begin adding in other options, the price begins to rise quickly.

Scarlet Ember Tintcoat, Gray Sky Pearl, and Pearl White TriCoat all cost an extra $1,490. The body protection includes options such as splash guards ($245), and the chrome rear bumper protector ($165).

When you add all this up, you get a price of $41,025.

This is the best trim level for the price

All the many features on the Altima SR VC-Turbo are great, but it can get expensive quickly. It’s also a lot to sort through to try and decide what you want, and what you don’t want. There is one trim that may be a more suitable choice.

Out of all the available trims, the SV model is probably the best value for your money. Edmunds was impressed with the wide range of options, as well as the available AWD. If you add this to the SV model, the price will be around $28,885.
