The 2023 Subaru Solterra compact SUV is the Japanese automaker’s first all-electric production vehicle. Subaru and Toyota partnered to develop the platform, which is also used on the Toyota bZ4X. Like Subaru’s other crossover SUVs, the Solterra comes standard with all-wheel drive and can handle light off-roading. It has 8.3 inches of ground clearance, traction control, hill ascent, and descent assist. In addition, it provides four drive modes: Eco, Normal, Power, and X-Mode. The last is useful for slippery or uneven surfaces because it regulates the power separately for each wheel.
As for the interior, the 2023 Solterra has an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, five USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster, and automatic climate control.

In addition to the standard features available on the Premium, the Limited adds a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless device charging, navigation, a Harman Kardon audio system, a 360-degree camera system, fog lights, and a digital key. It also has a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, synthetic leather-trimmed upholstery, a power liftgate, 20-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and a roof spoiler with aerodynamic fins.
The range-topping Solterra Touring trim adds to that lengthy list a panoramic glass roof with a power sunshade, ventilated front seats, illuminated interior trim, and a digital rearview mirror with a rear-vision camera display.
