A Fully Loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Enters Luxury Territory
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid is a spacious SUV featuring a blend of style, fuel efficiency, and luxury. This all-new three-row crossover is essentially an oversized version of the standard Highlander. With its elongated body, the Grand Highlander boasts more space for cargo and people, including a roomy third row where even full-grown adults can stretch. But a fully loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid considerably ups the luxury and price.
2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid overview
The gas-powered Grand Highlander has three trim levels. Starting at $43,070, the XLE is the base model. Next is the Limited, with an MSRP of 47,860. Last, the range-topping Platinum starts at $53,545.
However, Toyota offers the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid in four trims. The base model is the Hybrid XLE, starting at $44,670. It has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine and front-wheel drive. That’s followed by the $51,060 Hybrid Limited, with the same engine but all-wheel drive. Then there’s the Hybrid MAX Limited, starting at $54,040 and packing a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and AWD. Last is the top-tier the Hybrid MAX Platinum. It has the same powertrain as the Hybrid MAX Limited but includes more amenities, starting at $58,125.
With an EPA-estimated 37/34 mpg city/highway, the Hybrid XLE gets the best fuel economy. The performance-focused Hybrid MAX Limited and Hybrid MAX Platinum get 26/27 mpg.
How much is a fully loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, and what do you get?
Although the range-topping Hybrid MAX Platinum already starts at a luxury price of $58,125, a fully loaded version costs more.
The Hybrid MAX Platinum includes many bells and whistles, but it offers a couple of upgraded paint options and many accessories that cost extra. For instance, five exterior paint colors come standard: Silver Metallic, Black Metallic, Coastal Cream, Storm Cloud, and Blueprint. However, the premium colors Ruby Flare Pearl (red) and Wind Chill Pearl (white) cost $425. And paint protection film runs an extra $439.
In addition, buyers can choose from 26 accessories to create a fully loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid. Popular interior add-ons are all-weather floor liners for $228, illuminated cargo and door sills for $345, and an integrated dashcam for $499. Exterior accessories include an activity mount that can hold 200 pounds for $399, roof rack cross bars for $325, and a tow hitch for $849.
If you add the priciest paint option and all available accessories, a fully loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid costs just shy of $66,000.
Even without the optional upgrades, this Toyota is as expensive as a luxury SUV. For comparison, Kelley Blue Book predicts the all-new 2024 Lexus TX will start around $55,000.
1 trim provides the most bang for your buck
If you want to pay upward of $66,000 for a fully loaded 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, go for it. You’ll get a spacious SUV with myriad modern conveniences. However, lower trim levels are a better value.
The XLE Hybrid, with a starting MSRP of $46,005, will give you the most bang for your buck. The base model provides plenty of tech features and the same roomy interior for $20,000 less than a fully loaded model. Plus, the XLE Hybrid gets better fuel economy than the turbocharged trims.
