The Futuristic Hyundai Ioniq 7 Is Quite Long
Would you take a look at the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 7? This electric SUV looks incredibly long. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 may have a five head instead of a forehead. It kind of looks like an elongated hearse. But don’t judge a book by its cover. The interior explains its length.
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 takes length to a whole new level
We shouldn’t be surprised by the size of the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 because it’s the big brother to the Hyundai Ioniq 5. So, while it is expected to be taller and wider, we didn’t expect it to be super long. The wheelbase is almost 11 feet long, making it the longest Hyundai concept to date.
It looks like a wagon that’s been stretched out to accommodate more passengers. Also, the flat tailgate on the rear is a little reminiscent of a hearse. It’s possible that people will either love or hate its design.
However, the sloping roof should provide a more aerodynamic design to cut down on wind resistance. That could help the electric EV provide a better range. Also, forget the exterior for now. The party is in the interior.
The Ioniq 7 has a unique interior
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq is a midsize three-row SUV that will be here sooner than we think with a futuristic design. The interior is crafted to create the feeling of a family lounge space with swivel chairs.
It previews a feeling of full autonomy with butterfly doors that open to an inviting space. The Ioniq will have a steering wheel for now, but in the future, it could be replaced with a joystick as the driver swivels to see their passengers.
There is a 77-inch panoramic screen on the ceiling with a universal island that incorporates a 27-inch display. It can be used to watch movies or as a workspace. If your kids are arguing about what to watch, swivel around to set them straight.
But the transparent screen roof might have to wait. While it’s doable, it might not make sense to bring it to the market yet. Gil Castillo, Senior Group Manager for Hyundai Advanced Vehicle Strategy, shared that it’s more of an exploration of what’s possible as vehicles become autonomous.
The Ioniq 7 is green
Sustainable materials are critical with the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7. The cabin consists of recyclable materials such as copper and bamboo. This theme will likely make it from the concept to production.
It contains multiple air filters and a hygiene mode to clean the vehicle between uses. The air circulation system acts like an airplane with ventilation that provides each row to breathe different air with a pressurized cabin.
There are tons of storage shelves and cubbies to use, but the most important is a box to place shoes. It actually cleans and deodorizes them. But we aren’t sure how the vehicle will help smelly feet once the shoes come off.
The smaller Hyundai Ioniq 5 will arrive in the United States first, and it will share characteristics with the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7. The concept serves as an example of where the future can go. But it’s a long way off. That was a pun about its size, and we’re not sorry about it.
