General Motors is one of America’s ‘big three’ automakers. GM may lag behind other automakers in the small and midsize SUV segments, but it seems to dominate the large SUV segment. Does GM make the best full-size SUVs?

The 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $54,200. It uses a 5.3-liter V8 engine to make 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The Tahoe achieves 21 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Chevy Tahoe has a roomy third row, decent handling, and an interior that blocks out noise fairly well. The large SUV provides plenty of value for the money and comes in six different trim levels ranging from the base model LS to the luxurious High Country final trim.

The Tahoe Z71 is a great option for drivers that desire a full-size SUV capable of mild off-roading. The 2023 Tahoe RST is the ideal trim for those who want a classier full-size SUV. If Chevy’s full-size SUV isn’t to your liking, GMC offers a similar large SUV that’s competitive in its vehicle segment as well.

The 2023 GMC Yukon is a great new full-size SUV

The GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV that shares many traits with the Chevy Tahoe. The 2023 GMC Yukon starts at $57,400. It uses a 5.3-liter V8 engine to make 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, like the Tahoe. The Yukon gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. It’s slightly less efficient than the Tahoe. Both models have 24.0-gallon gas tanks, so the Tahoe gets more driving range.

MotorTrend calls the 2023 GMC Yukon’s interior “gigantic”. The automotive publication praises the large SUV’s automatic transmission and ride. It comes in five different trim levels. The Yukon SLT offers a great balance of affordability and standard features like heated front seats and leather upholstery.

The Tahoe’s slightly more affordable pricing and better fuel economy give it an edge over the Yukon. Still, both models are produced by General Motors brands, so GM has the full-size SUV game on lock.

The Chevy Suburban is a legend in its segment

The 2023 Chevrolet Suburban starts at $56,900. It uses a 6.2-liter V8 engine to make 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The Suburban achieves 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway.

Chevy’s full-size SUV comes in six different trim levels. The RST trim is snazzy and comes with plenty of creature comforts for a price that doesn’t break the bank for its segment ($65,000).

The Ford Expedition Max is one of the few large SUVs that can go up against GM full-size SUV models. It’s safe to say that General Motors produces some of the best full-size SUVs for 2023.
