The Eluminator is an old-school heritage 1978 Ford F-100 that uses a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition powertrain and motors.
The F-100 Eluminator makes a massive 480 horsepower, mirroring the capability of the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. Ford used an old-school body to demonstrate that the company doesn’t need internal combustion engines to create vehicles that live up to its standards. Ford has created generations of beloved pickup trucks and muscle cars that Americans have become attached to.
The F-100 Eluminator’s unique electric crate motor system is an example of the type of electric performance innovation that Ford is pioneering. The electric crate engine was available for sale shortly after its SEMA 2021 debut. It quickly sold out after just a few days.
The electric crate motor went on sale for $3,900. The motor makes 281 horsepower. It is currently being resold on eBay for as much as $4,700. Some consumers may not be on board with the Blue Oval’s push to electrification, but it seems many builders are getting with the times and embracing the change.
