What do you do when a $105,000, all-electric Hummer EV is left blocking your off-road trail? If you’re Allen Skillicorn, you film it, post it on TikTok, and watch the internet go wild. Here’s how his peaceful off-roading morning near Sycamore Creek quickly turned into a viral moment [Video embedded below].

“It’s Monday morning and I’m just coming down a trail here, in the Cayenne, and I saw this vehicle blocking the trail,” Allen narrates in his now-viral video. “It’s one of these electric Hummers. The tie rod must be broken. Absolutely brand new.” The Hummer, retailing for around $105,000, sat stranded. Its wheels were comically misaligned while grease leaked onto the rocks of the Arizona mountainside.

“I can see the CV joint—or whatever—is torn because there’s a lot of grease there,” Allen adds, clearly baffled by the sight of this abandoned electric beast. He had been out for a peaceful off-roading trip when he stumbled upon this 9,000-pound obstacle that wasn’t going anywhere fast. Worse yet, it appears to be blocking his way.

But the internet wasn’t nearly as surprised as Allen. “It weighs 10,000lb. Of course it broke when taken off-road through divots and uneven terrain,” one user commented. Seth Riggin had seen this before: “We had one get stuck in a mud hole at our local park. Took 3 wrecker companies 18 hours total to get it out, costing the owner $5,500.”

A commenter named “Boo” echoed the sentiment, saying, “I worked on a TV commercial for those, one of ours did the exact same thing while we were shooting.”

The video quickly blew up, gaining 7,878 likes and 638 comments. Speculation about what went wrong continues to pour in. The tie rod? Suspension issues? Emmet White from Road & Track noted that while the Hummer EV’s suspension is high-tech, it’s still a weak point in rough conditions when paired with the vehicle’s massive weight. Yahoo Autos further confirmed, “The front wheels were splayed at an odd angle, pointing to a suspension failure.”

It seems the Hummer EV, despite all its tech, met its match in the Arizona desert. At least Allen got one epic story for his troubles.

So, the next time you’re off-roading in the desert, remember—even a $105,000 Hummer EV can end up like a sitting duck. Maybe pack an extra tie rod. Or a Porsche Cayenne. Just in case.
