The GMC Sierra Gets a Factory Discount
After years of scary-high prices and limited inventory, we are finally starting to see some small moments we recognize as a normal car market. Trucks are still expensive, but there is some relief with pickup truck inventory coming back. For August, GMC has finally reinstated a proper factory discount on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500.
How much is the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500?
MSRP for the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 starts at $37,100, which is pretty high compared to its competitors like the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra. However, the new discount GMC offers certainly takes some of the sting out.
To reap the benefits, customers have to buy certain GMC Sierra 1500 models. GMC offers $1,500 or $2,500 GMC Loyalty Cash on Sierras with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. If you choose to use the low-interest financing, along with deferred monthly payments for 90 days, GMC will knock off another $500. For GMC customers who want the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, GMC is also offering a $2,500 trade assistance rebate. It looks to me like GMC is trying to sell some trucks.
Do you need the 2023 Sierra 1500 Short Box Crew Cab 4WD Elevation with the turbocharged L3B engine? Well, you’re in luck, too. Along with the other GMC pickup truck discounts, a special regional lease program applies to only this specific model.
What are all the discounts on 2023 GMC trucks?
Here is the full price breakdown per GMC model. These numbers are subject to change. The 2023 Sierra 1500 is eligible for a package discount of $1,500 with the turbocharged L3B engine. Included is a $500 cash bonus with the turbocharged L3B engine—a combined rebate of up to $2,000.
The naturally-aspirated 2023 Sierra 1500 has a $2,500 Trade Assistance deal for owners of a 2009 model year or newer vehicle.
For the 2023 Sierra 1500 Elevation with the turbocharged L3B engine, GMC offers a $500 bonus cash offer and $2,500 in GMC Loyalty Cash for owners or lessees of a 2009 model year or newer vehicle—a combined rebate: up to $3,000.
Regarding financing discounts, any 2023 Sierra 1500 is available for 0.9% APR for 36 months and 2.9% APR for up to 60 months. According to GM Authority, there is also the option for deferred monthly payments for 90 days (not available in PA). However, you must finance with GM Financial to be eligible. There is still an additional $500 cash back with the turbocharged L3B engine.
The 2023 Sierra 1500 Double Cab is eligible for 1.9% APR for 48 months. Like the other deal, you must finance with GM Financial.
Lastly, the 2023 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab AT4X is eligible for 2.9% APR for 60 months and also must finance with GM Financial.
Is the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 a good pickup truck?
Our very own Allison Barfield spent some time with it on her 2023 Sierra 1500 review. The Sierra 1500 is a strong blend of luxury comfort and a brawny work ethic. Like many of its competitors, the Sierra offers a wide variety of configurations and eight main trims. From the base model Sierra Pro up to the Denali Ultimate, the Sierra packs tons of power, comfort, and style.
If you want a more adventurous truck, the Sierra AT4X trim offers hearty off-road suspension, beefy 33-inch tires, 18-inch wheels, DSSV spool-valve dampers, and multiple off-road driving modes.
If you are going more for the big boss truck, the luxury-packed Denali Ultimate will serve you well in all things style and comfort. While it still isn’t quite as luxurious as the top-tier Ram 1500, the Sierra 1500 might surprise you in the class department.
Overall, the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 is a versatile truck with many options and configurations for most truck drivers. These discounts only make the Sierra a more appealing full-size pickup truck option.
GM Authority warns that these discounts will end on Sep 5, 2023. You better get while the getting’s good.
