Hailie Deegan Reveals Major Personal News About Her Future in Racing and Beyond
Hailie Deegan won’t ever forget October 2023. The 22-year-old NASCAR Truck Series driver for ThorSport Racing announced earlier in the month that she will be moving up to the Xfinity Series in 2024. That’s a massive step in her professional career. This week, she shared a big announcement about her personal life, revealing that she and her longtime boyfriend were engaged.
Hailie Deegan moving to Xfinity Series in 2024
Hailie Deegan is wrapping up her third full-time season in the Truck Series. In that time, the driver has achieved limited success.
During her first two seasons at David Gilliland Racing, she scored a total of three top-10 finishes. She finished 17th and 21st, respectively, in the final points standings.
The 2023 season was supposed to be a fresh start, moving over to ThorSport Racing, a team known for winning races and championship. She also received championship-winning crew chief Rich Lushes from Ben Rhodes’ team. Unfortunately, those tools haven’t translated into success and she’s scored a pair of top 10s and four DNFs through the season’s first 22 races.
Despite those numbers, she announced on Oct. 5 that she would be moving up to the Xfinity Series in 2024, competing for AM Racing. Many of her most ardent supporters have long suggested she’s better suited for the second-tier series, where she raced once in 2022 at Las Vegas and posted a solid 13th-place finish.
Deegan announces engagement to longtime boyfriend
While the move to Xfinity is understandably a big deal in her professional life, the Truck Series two-time most popular driver made an even bigger announcement on Friday about her personal life. She and longtime boyfriend and fellow racer Chase Cabre are now engaged.
The driver shared the news on her Instagram account, which included multiple photos of the pair on the beaches of San Luis Obispo in California, with her standing and Cabre on one knee proposing.
“I love you Chase Cabre,” she wrote on the post.
Many in the NASCAR community responded to the news.
“Congratulations Hailie and Chase!” wrote Fox’s Jamie Little. “What a team you two have become.”
“Congrats lady!!” Little’s broadcast co-worker Kaitlyn Vincie said. “Happy for you!”
“Congrats!” Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha replied.
“WE SHIP IT – Congratulations!” the SRX Racing Series, where Deegan regularly competed in 2023, commented.
Deegan’s plans for her professional and personal life are now set. She can now focus on her driving. And she knows she’ll have a co-pilot who will be along for the ride through all the highs and lows on the track and in life.
