Do you know what really grinds people’s gears? Stopping at the gas station. Hatred for having to get more gas is so strong that it causes people to change sides. Electric vehicle owners trade in their traditional gas guzzlers for electric vehicles to totally avoid gas stations. 

Electric vehicle owners hate the gas station 

You may have noticed that electric vehicle ads often say you’ll no longer have to stop at the gas station, as a benefit. This made me wonder if stopping for gas is really that bad. 

Apparently, it is, because tons of happy electric vehicle owners stepped in to share why they loathe stopping to fill up. 

One EV driver shared that they like not having to worry about fuel. They simply unplug their EV and leave every morning without any issues. They never have to make the mistake of waiting to get gas until the next morning before work. 

That sounds nice, but you can get gas in the evening. Plus, how often do people actually fill up? Once or twice a week? 

Another EV fan shared that they don’t have to do any route planning. They don’t have to find the gas stations with the lowest prices during their trips.

However, don’t you have to plan routes based on charging stations? The answer to this question involved how EVs constantly display EV stations nearby, which is true. However, not all of them are always DC level 3 faster charging stations. 

Also, I drive all the things. I like EVs, hybrids, PHEVs, and traditional ICE vehicles. So many options with built-in navigation will show you the gas stations nearby. Plus, how often do people pick a place with the cheapest prices instead of going to the closest place? 

One EV owner shared that filling up can take a long time. This is true, but it doesn’t take as long as charging does. But for people who drive a ton of miles each day, avoiding the gas station can be convenient. 

Some electric vehicle owners hate gas stations because of environmental factors. The fumes may smell bad to some people and can cause headaches. Plus, some gas stations are often loud and crowded. 

But for the best EV success, it helps to have a home charging station installed, which can cost thousands. Plus, renters can’t have them installed without consent
