One car featured in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 video game has made the jump over into the real world. Here’s a look at the Cyberpunk 2077 Quadra and the custom Ford Mustang it inspired. You may even be the next owner of this one-of-a-kind car.

The Ford Mustang: an American icon

The Ford Mustang is a well-known American icon. Ford launched the 1965 Mustang at the World’s Fair on April 17, 1964. The company sold 22,000 Mustangs on the first day, introducing the popular pony car to the world, according to Automobile Magazine. The car was sold in convertible, notchback, and fastback styles.

Through the late 1960s and 1970s, the Mustang grew larger – its engine did too – but sales started to slump. The Mustang II appeared in 1974, meeting a need for an economical car during a time of high oil prices. By the early ’80s, Ford began to reintroduce performance engines for the Mustang.

Now in its sixth generation, the American classic has remained popular for 55 years. Ford built the 10,000,000th Mustang in 2018. Its iconic style and power have helped the car make its mark on American culture, appearing in movies and getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to Road and Track.

The ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ video game

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming open-world RPG video game set in the futuristic dystopian world of Night City in California. The eagerly anticipated game is scheduled to release on November 19, 2020, according to PC Gamer, after being delayed from April and then September.

Players navigate the game world as V, a mercenary looking for an implant that can provide immortality. V engages in combat plus driving around and exploring buildings. Keanu Reeves is featured in the game, playing the ghost of rock star Johnny Silverhand.

Players will be able to own cars and summon them to come to them. There will also be garages to park in too. Of the vehicles announced for the game, the Quadra sports car is one of the most recognized. MotorTrend describes its style as “post-apocalyptic.”

The special Mustang inspired by the Quadra

The iconic Ford Mustang meets the futuristic world of Cyberpunk 2077 in one custom Mustang Quadra. Rockstar Energy’s Rockstar Performance Garage developed the new Quadra, starting with a 1970 Ford Mustang, which had only been driven for 37,000 miles. The team made updates to turn it into the Quadra.

It now features a large grille, with a Quadra badge over its headlights, fog lights, and reverse lights. The car is wrapped in a custom “Quadra Yellow” color with black accents. It also sports black-painted Rotiform wheels. The car also got chassis upgrades along with a coil-over suspension and four disc brakes. The original 4.9-liter V8 engine got modernized as well, with fuel injection, 3.0-inch K&N air filters, plus a Magnaflow dual-exhaust system. The team also added a nine-inch rear end and sticky Mickey Thompson tires.

The car’s interior displays custom seats along with other Quadra-style alterations. It has a custom three-spoke steering wheel, carbon-fiber accents, and a Kicker audio system. The new gauge cluster features adjustable lighting, where Quadra Yellow is the default color.
