Here’s The New Batmobile: A Glorious Mashup Of 1960s Muscle Cars
A new Batman movie reboot called The Batman is headed to the big screen next fall. As this is a reboot of the iconic comic book hero a new Batmobile was needed. Rather than going the over-the-top route with the likes of the Tumbler, the designers have taken a different stab. While the Tumbler was more like a tank than a car, the new Batmobile is more like a glorious mashup of 1960s muscle cars.
It is rough around the edges which we like. The Tumbler was just too improbable and unrelatable. The new Batmobile is raw and rank and wild-looking with what looks like pieces of different muscle cars combined to form Batman’s ride.
This new Batmobile will be massive
The film’s concept model artist Jeff Frost revealed the new Batmobile to Carbuzz. Take a look at Batman inside of the model. If that is to scale this new Batmobile will be massive. It may look like it is the size of a Mustang but what we are seeing here is much larger. It looks like you could fit four people in the front seat. Yikes!
When we last visited the new Batmobile back in March it was apparent it would be a stylized muscle car throwback. But comparing this to the earlier models from March shows a rougher, coarser ride. The Caped Crusader is a dark figure and so too should be his mode of transportation. In that respect, it looks like the designers have nailed it.
We can imagine Batman plowing across a dark highway with the Batmobile sounding like an earthmover
It has an apocalyptic look but with a nod to earlier Batman iterations when he used a modified car. With the mid-engine location, it will be nothing like a 1960s muscle car but that’s Hollywood for you. We can already imagine Batman plowing across a dark highway with the Batmobile sounding like an earth mover.
We like the idea that Batman toiled in the Batcave cludging the Batmobile together from scrap. That way this home build is tailored to what he knows he needs. It will have a relatable connection rather than being a mish-mash of armor and weapons. Plus if you imagine him building it the idea he could put together this Batmobile gives him plenty of creds.
You’ll have to wait a bit because The Batman release date is October 1, 2021
You’ll have to wait a bit because The Batman release date is October 1, 2021. Ben Affleck won’t be returning to the Caped Crusader role. In his place will be Robert Pattinson. Also starring will be Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffery Wright, John Turturro, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrel.
Until the release take a gander at these sneak peek images of the model that will be used to build the actual car. It looks tough and ready for some action, which we hope The Batman will have plenty of.
