The Highly Anticipated 2024 Ram Rampage Is Disappointing
We have good news about the new Ram Rampage and some bad news. First of all, the new tiny truck is happening, and teasers are starting to promote it. However, don’t get too excited for the 2024 Ram Rampage, or you could be let down.
When is the 2024 Ram Rampage coming out?
New teasers confirm that the 2024 Ram Rampage is happening, but the official release date hasn’t been revealed. We can speculate that the compact Ram truck will debut in the summer to reach dealerships in the fall.
But before you get stoked for the new Ford Maverick fighter to arrive, we have to kill your joy. The Rampage was developed for South America and probably won’t come to the United States. So, Brazil and other countries get another cool option that’s forbidden here.
According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, Ram CEO Mike Koval shared that he would love to bring a compact truck to America and would do it today if he could. The opportunity is definitely viable.
However, things are a bit tricky. The truck would have to meet higher American emission and safety standards. It may have to be re-engineered, which takes time and money. Plus, Stellantis would need a place to build it.
What to expect with the Rampage truck
The 2024 Ram Rampage truck has killed our tiny Ram truck dreams in America, but maybe we will get a similar variant in the future. The truck has styling cues that match the larger Ram 1500.
It features a similar headlight and grilled design with a matching rear end. It features a unibody design and rides on the same platform as the Jeep Commander, which is another cool option we can’t have.
However, the Ram Rampage has unique springs and recalibrated shock absorbers to handle more weight. This indicates that the tiny Ramage could be a mighty work truck. Its cousin, the Fiat Toro, can tow up to 2,200 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,433 lbs.
The Rampage might have a little more muscle, and we hope it at least matches the Ford Maverick’s ability to tow up to 4,000 lbs.
Also, the Ram Pamage is teasing a turbo engine. It could have a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. But it might also have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel option.
Is Ram making a new truck?
The 2024 Ram Rampage is only one of the new trucks that are happening. Rumors suggest that the Ram Dakota or a new mid-size truck could emerge soon because it recently impressed dealerships.
We don’t have much information about the new Dakota, but based on a few clues, we can gather that it will be offered with gas and electric powertrains. The goal is for it to be available worldwide.
It could be similar to the Ram Rampage by matching the look of the Ram 1500. Also, it has a much higher chance of being available in America. While the Jeep Gadiaotr is an off-roader, the Dakota will provide more daily driving comfort.
