The current generation debuted in 2018, and even though it’s in its fifth model year, the 2022 Honda Accord picked up yet another Best Buy award for its trophy case.

Available in four trim levels, the 2022 Accord offers lots of features and room with a good mix of ride, handling, fuel economy, and performance. In addition to the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, buyers can choose a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo or 2.0-liter hybrid engine. Both the base and hybrid engines come with a CVT automatic transmission, while the 2.0 turbo is equipped with a 10-speed automatic.

The Honda Sensing suite of safety features is standard on all trim levels. It includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, and road sign recognition. Available features include rear cross-traffic alert, 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity, remote start, and heated/ventilated front seats.

Here’s Why The 2022 Honda Accord Is a Best Buy

What makes the Honda Accord a great car is its mix of features, refinement, and value. In addition to the roomy interior and large trunk, it offers a lot of standard equipment and cutting-edge technology. It’s also engaging to drive, offering good acceleration, responsive handling, and braking while maintaining a comfortable, composed ride.

Even the hybrid model is smooth and satisfying. When you combine those attributes with a low starting price of just over $27,000, it’s easy to see why it’s recommended by many automotive publications, including Consumer Guide.

“The Honda Accord offers a fine mix of cutting-edge technology features, polished powertrains, outstanding rear legroom, and class-leading all-around refinement.”

Is the Honda Accord a Good Car?

The answer is a resounding yes. The Honda Accord is a good car. Car and Driver calls it “versatile, comfortable, affordable, and fun,” adding, “the 2022 Accord shines in every way a car can, making it one of our favorite new cars on sale today.”

Edmunds concurs, stating, “The Accord is a class leader. It’s an undeniably compelling package, and it’s enjoyable to drive. Some rival sedans might best the Accord in a few areas, but no other sedan puts it all together as well as this one.”

Finally, U.S. News ranked it #1 in the midsize class, saying, “the 2022 Honda Accord’s #1 ranking is based on its score within the Midsize Cars category. It is the winner of our 2022 Best Midsize Car for the Money award and the winner of our 2022 Best Midsize Car for Families award.”

But the Honda Accord is not just one of the best midsize cars. It’s one of the best cars period. There’s a reason it won so many awards – it’s just so capable at everything while being cheap to own and enjoyable to drive. It’s not perfect, but it’s perfectly suited for what most people need.
